I was hoping to bring more attention to this. Guess not...

people are going to say, "this works only if you're attractive". Not true, it works because you display confidence and it's out of the ordinary & unexpected

I have a gf now and have been out of the game for a while, but towards the end I've started using more direct approach.

With proper confidence, I found this to work very well. Just go up to a girl and go, "Hey. I'm ____. You're the cutest girl ever, for real. Let's hang." Or whatever. And move from there. Strong eye contact is key.

Or make it a hit and run type of thing. "Hey. You're so fucking cute. Let's get out for a drink sometime." Her (shocked): "Ummm. Okay(?)" You: "Cool, let me take your number" and hand her your phone w/ number ready to be entered.

Worked pretty well, as it's ballsy and unexpected. Try it out.

The non designer's design book is a great resource for almost everything design related. It's a short, simple read and covers all the fundamentals of design, including type face and combinations of them. Definitely worth checking out.

I once lost a girl because of this... a great one too. Never again. Go for it, motherfucker, or regret it.

I host 5 sites on BlueHost for something like $80-100/yr. Am I doing it wrong? Should I be using Google Sites or AWS instead?

Yep... don't dance to try to look good or sexy, dance to have fun.

True. Lately I've favored direct approaches, so my line above is only good if that's what you're going for and usually when you don't have time to build rapport.

I'd exclude the whole "gorgeous" line.

It depends how you say it and the confidence you show. I used to use (got a gf now), "Hi, you're pretty much the cutest/most gorgeous girl ever. We should be friends / hang out / get drinks / whatever." and it worked all the time.

Don't directly face them. People will also be less guarded, more comfortable and see you as a friendlier person if you communicate with them from a 45 degree angle. That's the ideal position.

He's 66.

He doesn't do any type of strength training, but he is a contractor/carpenter, so he is active.

I'm wondering if he's be okay with just picking up a dr schol's(sp?) shoe gel thingy.

Why is there the science of fitness so uncertain? by SoBoredAtWorkin askscience

...this process leads to lactic acid accumulation

You hit on an important topic here.

I know that lactic acid has an affect on muscle growth. I believe that the pain you feel when lifting is a side effect of lactic acid buildup or something along those lines.

If this is so, are you better off HIIT running before or after lifting (if the goal is to gain muscle)?

I always do an HIIT run after lifting because I thought that I read that building muscle burns carbs, then the run after will burn any remaining carbs, then target fat cells.

Thanks. You hit on a bunch of great points.

...eating 30% protein instead of 25% might matter

This is sort of what I'm getting at... why don't we know at all the 'best' protein:fat:carb ratios?

I realize that there's a TON of factors involving losing weight and/or getting fit, so it makes sense that there's so many 'effective' workouts out there. But why haven't we 'figured it out' yet?

I realize that we know that less calories = weight loss, but it seems like that's pretty much all we know.

It's happened to me 2 times from smoking, 5 years apart. I also got checked out medically afterwards and everything was perfectly fine with me, so yeah, I wouldn't worry much about it.
