I use Ableton... Used to be into Reason until i bought the Maschine and started to use vst's. The iPad running touchable works as a wonderful controller for Ableton, much preferable to the apc40 in my book.

I would usually be agreeing with you but this is really more than I expected would ever happen. I expected maybe 100-200 views, with my wildest dreams at 1,000. We both work construction for a small time business in a small town and I would definitely much rather be some PR firms marketing monkey but sadly I'm not.

Thanks for the link, I'll pass it along to him... he understands his production is a little flawed but he's mainly just been doing it by himself, the song posted was recorded at a friend's small studio back around 2007, and he has now moved on to producing for himself at home with a Tascam DP02 8 track, he is continually trying to improve his self production skills so thank you for the info.

My decision to post this was after a week long banter involving J. Tillman of the Fleet Foxes, and his new ego Father John Misty, how that pretentious jerk can make such incredibly boring music and be as popular as he is. This song may seem dated because it is, he originally wrote the song 7 years ago, and was released on a self-released CD 5 years ago. He has definitely progressed in his song making, and purchased more tools to aid in the production of his music including an Alesis SR-16 drum machine and a Korg Kaossilator Pro. He records all this in his free time and has a staggering amount of other songs. This song may not be your taste and that's understandable, I just chose this song to post because it also includes his wife singing, which is true to what Mercury is about.

It's not the first time it's happened either... I've been to quite a few shows of his, he usually plays coffee shops/diners/farmer's markets and at every single show he gives his all and plays his show to nobody in particular and doesn't care. He has two young boys at home and time to play full songs and sets at home is rare, he loves the practice he gets at his live shows and it's amazing to hear how much songs have progressed and alternate versions he will play live from his constant gigging for nobody. Practice as he calls it.

This is unbelievable... Somebody called it by saying I posted this and went to sleep, I never imagined this would hit the front page. My coworker, Eric, is absolutely blown away, he came to work today ecstatic, all the plays on soundcloud has him amazed to the point he has been spontaneously busting out in laughter. Eric would like to say to the people who have commented on a need to expand his bases that this song is five years old now and I know for a fact there is some seriously good stiff on the horizon. I didn't mean to play the sympathy card for him, he plays 5 or so shows a month to almost nobody and just wanted to give him the respect he deserves... Eric said it best by saying "in all the years I have been playing I don't think I have had 20.000 listens" thank you everybody.

Oh man... so many memories, I played Horde in Goon Squad on Mal'ganis during vanilla days and nothing will ever compare to how much fun I had back on that server. WSG was where it was at, and I certainly remember knowing names and having a fear of them. I knew what mages I could stunlock and kill before they blinked and nuked me. I could likely guarantee we have killed one another for hours on end, because I remember almost ever name you mentioned.

I remember struggling through MC for literally all day just hoping for another piece of Nightslayer gear so I could be better in BGs, and the elation of getting my first 8/8 tier 1 and the struggles to even get 4/8 Tier 2. The idea of getting a Thunderfury? Absolute madness. All that seems lost now, I have gone back to play WoW a few times since then, and participated in a battleground once, cross realm ruined the personality the server had, and it's a real shame.
