I have an in-law in New Brunswick that bought a waterfront property for roughly $50,000. She had enough money left over to buy the neighbouring property, bull doze it, and build a very nice deck.

I got $15,000 saved in an "oh shit" account, that never gets touched. I suggest people start doing this as well.

As an anecdotal story, my brother never found use for such a huge lump sum in his savings account. He always claimed that if shit hits the fan, he can get a line of credit. Well, not two months ago, a heavy wind storm ripped off half the shingles on his roof, roughly the same time his car needed a couple thousand dollars worth of replacement parts.

TLDR; He didn't want to save. Shit happened. He quickly saw the value of saving a few hundred a month. Life is a harsh teacher.

I would like to know more about the environmental cost of producing a lithium battery and motors versus the manufacture of an aluminium gasoline engine.

Could they be considered a equivalent environmental costs or does the manufacture of one produce more pollutants then the other?

Also, same could be said for the disposal of said materials.
