Fat people make up the funniest stories.

The problem with America by DJSlambertin funny

You are probably fat and can't come to terms with yourself, so whenever someone makes an attack or joke on your weight, you get hostile. Don't try to turn this into something that is socially acceptable, because being fat is disgusting.

Voting Fraud By Government Officials Caught On Tape And Nothing happens? by nickdabearin politics

This pisses me off to another level. Citizens work hard to get their message across to their reps and the very thing they spent days protesting to get passed is shot down by? Fucking voter fraud. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

After telling my mom I hope to become an astronomer she smiles and tells me to choose a better paying career. What's the most discouraging thing your parent(s) have said? by MadeOfDustin AskReddit

[–]Scriptus 1 point2 points ago

In high school I was the top of my class with straight A's, long list of volunteer work, and connections like none other. I hinted at going pre-med and becoming a doctor but was unsure at the time in high school. She always encouraged me to be a doctor because she wants me to get "rich". After long contemplation and decision making, I told my mom I wanted to join the Airforce and attempt to become a fighter pilot. She laughed hysterically at my long time dream. I'm now pre-med at a Big Ten university.

TL;DR Told my mom I wanted to be a fighter pilot, she shot me down and told me to pursue becoming a doctor.

I'm white from german decent and my husband is black with African and slight Indian decent. We are expecting a child. Do mixed races have stronger genetics? Anyone have interesting info on this subject? by JustForCancerin askscience

[–]Scriptus 0 points1 point ago

Based on my knowledge, I would just assume that it is taking two very different gene pools and creating a more diverse genome. The advantages to this would depend on environment, so it's hard to define what is more "advantageous", not necessarily "stronger" genetics.

Reddit, my moms about to die...I dont know how to handle it...even worse I don't know how my brothers are going to handle it. by Jusselinin AskReddit

Props to you for helping her fight brain cancer for 15 years. Just remember, just because they said she doesn't have much longer to live, doesn't guarantee she is going to pass away. My dad always tells me, "It's never over until its over." Referring to sports, but I believe this can be applied to almost anything. Just hang in there, you have your brothers for support.

He felt horrible went to the hospital and got this removed a gallbladder with 2900 stones by WhiteGoldfinchin WTF

My dad got his gall bladder removed and the surgeon said that it was one of the worst gall bladders ever seen. This makes me wish I was there to get a picture of it.

My sister once started crying and locked herself in her room after my parents spent the last of their money buying her a Gameboy - because the Gameboy was grey and not pink. Reddit, what's the most cringeworthy, ungrateful thing you've ever seen someone do? by Drixislovein AskReddit

[–]Scriptus 1 point2 points ago

After reading all of these horror stories, I think people on here need a "restoration of faith in humanity."

My friend is one of the most grateful people I know. Despite his dad making upwards of $6-10 million per year, he has a decent truck but nothing over the top, refuses the consistent $100 bills his mom tries to give him, and doesn't flaunt his wealth around.

Check out the NCBI site, it will amaze you how much information we have already collected about the human genome.

Reddit, I know we're mostly liberal here, but what opinions do you have that you would consider right-wing? by Evan1701in AskReddit

You come off as taking gun ownership as a joke and the idea of people like you owning a gun scare the hell out of me.

I spend an hour every day playing with my neighbor's dog under the fence. I'll never understand how someone can keep a cutie like this locked up alone. He is ignored by his owners, but he has become one of my best friends! by kboo189in aww

[–]Scriptus 2 points3 points ago

I remember when I was a little kid we did something similar to this. The neighbors had a beautiful golden retriever and we would always go over to their house and ask if we could walk their dog. They never took it out and they let it become infested with ticks. We would first take the dog back to our house and pull at least 25-50 ticks off the dog. (I shit you not.) Then we would take it out on the trails and down our dirt road. I remember we brought him back to the owner who never kept him on a leash and the dog came running back over in the middle of the night and slept under our porch waiting for us. I was sad when I never saw that dog again after that summer.

If life starts are conception, then all cells should have the same right to live. by Seriphein atheism

[–]Scriptus -2 points-1 points ago*

Human zygotes are totipotent meaning they can differentiate into any kind of cell. The fact that a human zygote doesn't differentiate into any other kind of organism gives it its right to human life.

EDIT: Just clarifying that I am supporting your argument.
