That sounds absolutely nothing like what popular hip-hop culture does to the urban youth.

I have nothing but respect for dudes that build their own rigs. That's the right way to have a truck.

Also, sweet fucking bed. I like that a lot.

Water sanitation workers: Do you drink tap water? by unravelledin AskReddit

My friends and I have drank hundreds and hundreds of gallons of water run through a standard backpacking water filter.

All still kickin' with nary a sign of the muddy runs.

The fire suppression accidentally went off and submerged planes in foam. by [deleted]in pics

[–]RedditRedneck 40 points41 points ago

Saving human lives is the primary focus of sprinkler systems.

That's why they can cause so much damage upon release and still be worthwhile.

We used to prop up brooms so that a guy climbing back down the ladder would poke himself in the ass.

We called that goosing.

Now I know where the concept started.

Foam systems are typically used where highly flammable materials need protected... like oil refineries, alcohol facilities, or in this case, jet fuel. They are deluge systems (all heads open for total coverage upon emergency), dry systems are for cold/outdoor use (and are equipped with sealed, fusible heads and filled with air).

The foam is relatively inexpensive, but it will still likely cost them upwards of $10,000 to have their system serviced/re-filled (maintenance typically doesn't touch the sprinklers are you need special certifications/insurance to work on them). That's besides the cleanup cost. Still much cheaper than the potential loss of life and aircraft that a hangar fire could cause.

I know we would get our asses chewed out by the fire marshal for false alarms (whether or not we caused them), so I imagine there is quite a bit of shit flying around after this mishap.

I love my truck, does reddit? by jmjivin UserCars

[–]RedditRedneck 0 points1 point ago

I love the old 80s-early90s dodge trucks.

The 3.9 and 5.2 are fucking tanks.

I noticed that your cab is sitting a little low vs the box. Mine does that too after I lifted it. It sucks that it's so hard to find aftermarket parts (like body bushings) for these trucks. I think I'm going to fab some up out of hockey pucks and steel pipe or some other redneck cocktail.

Subletting some space sounds like the easiest way to get above water, but there are hazards involved with that.

So let me throw this out there for all the "always buy a used car" people by BruceCambridgein Frugal

[–]RedditRedneck 0 points1 point ago

Nothing is an absolute in the life, but I still stand by my statement that doing repair work yourself is generally the most cost effective way of handling a used car.

Also, Protip: Always fill with water after changing hoses to ensure you've got no leaks. Run it for a week or so and switch back to coolant after you're sure there are no issues. It works as a nice coolant system flush as well.
