Maybe if it was just me posting something I made, but I love my Dad and I didn't like what you were saying after seeing him so happy and working so hard. He works his butt off every day, way harder than most people I know, and he's honestly too old to be doing the kind of work that he does. When he gets a day off he still wants to work hard, if only because he wants to see his family smile.

Imagine it was your child, wife, mother, boyfriend, father, grandparent, friend, autistic daughter.

My talents include making plushies (mostly blobby keychain ones), some art, glass etching, and the occasional seasonal festive great-smelling pumpkin carving!

I also recently started making some jewelry/keychains, so I'm still pretty novice-y (mostly d20 stuff but working on some cutiemark wire stuff so I'll have some pictures posted soon!)

Anyway, I never thought I'd have to argue the validity of the food made on r/foodporn, but I'd have been willing to let this go if this didn't sort of feel like a insult to my dad. Silly, I know.... I'm being a Daddy's girl. But if you had seen how eager and happy he was as he was coming home, putting it into the oven, cutting into it while handing me slices to munch on, and serving it to his family, your heart'd probably break.

So, here we go.

Yes, my dad made this. I'd gladly take a picture of the rack, covered in juices and fat, and the raw piece of pork belly and send it to you personally next time.
If I was going to grab bought food and claim we made it, why did I leave the steamed chicken (one of the easier foods we've made dozens of times) in the container?
This quantity of pork belly is sort of shameful to buy from a restaurant unless about 12-18 people are dining. If we were to buy it, it would take up about 3 containers.
Pork Belly, when bought, usually is thicker and curved. This is because restaurants roast the whole pig and cut into it after the crispy skin's formed a belly shape. This piece was laid flat on a rack.

It was delicious. It was probably fattier and more moist than any I've had from takeout and I love my dad very much. (I had about 3 pieces and couldn't have any more. It was that rich.)

lol, it made a lot more sense in the moment to set it against the tablet. (The only blank dark surface on hand) and the lighting was best I could manage with a desk lamp and mirrors and.... oh god, how is it I have a camera on my laptop, phone, 3DS, actual camera, and nothing can take a decent clear picture??
