I got both speakers and the subwoofer on craigslist for 50$, refoamed the woofers (foam was almost completely rotted away), and got the receiver for 60$ also on craigslist. Well used money :)

Fried speakers are the best! The realism in the voices is incredible with the hiquphon tweeters.

I really enjoy the Zero.

Before i got the Zero DAC i was using the FiiO E7, the Zero was a noticeable improvement in quality. It is also functioning as a DAC for the receiver, something the E7 could not do as well as it has no RCA out. Ill try using the speakers with the covers off and see if the sound is more detailed, good idea!

Receiver: Nakamichi TA-2A
Amp/Dac: Zero DAC
Speakers: Fried Q/3
Subwoofer: The Fried Subwoofer (I know.....)
Headphones: Ultrasone HFI-780 with pads raised by cotton balls and more comfortable headband foam.

I only took the speaker covers off too show the drivers, I usually leave them on.
