It had its moments. The unrated version was significantly better, too.

Very wonderful indeed. I remember being blown away by the graphics when I first landed on Dantooine. The way the grass moved in the wind was beautiful. Even by today's standards it still looks pretty good.

I don't know, but that beard gives him that refined, "most interesting man in the world" look. He actually looks his age now.

Have a Top 40 gig tomorrow, but I've been asked to play music for the parents after the kids go home. I've never mixed older music; how's this playlist look? by Psythikin Beatmatch

Already have every current hit + remixes of them. Just added a bunch of 90s to the playlist, like frostyakajello suggested (Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Shaggy, Radiohead, Tupac, etc.), I've got the last four decades covered now; plenty to last me the 8 hour set and (hopefully) please everybody. We'll see how it goes.

I don't really "insist" on playing anything; this list is more of a "guideline" for me than anything. I'll look into it anyway.

Wow, this helps a ton. I don't have many gigs up my sleeve (only 7 since I started in 2009), so I always get really nervous and spend way too much time preparing. I remember a lot of those songs from my childhood but figured they were too cheesy to play, but now I'm having second thoughts.

I appreciate the input!

The only game I have that actually used that folder is Crysis 2...

I don't even bother putting actual documents in My Documents.

I know, right? Sound quality can make or break the audio experience for me. I could never understand people who can listen to 240p YouTube videos that are a recording of the music video playing on an 80s TV, filmed with a cell phone from the early 2000s...

Well it's an eighth-grade graduation party so 13-14 year olds. No clue how old the parents are.

Also like I said, American audience, so house is a no go.

Lastly, could you please list song titles? I've been practicing this set all week, and if I have to suddenly switch to 90s I need to build a new playlist quick, and thus don't have time to figure out which songs to play by what artist. I only have a little over 24 hours left. Appreciate it!

How do you, personally, end your sets? by RooneysPenguinFriendin Beatmatch

Lower the pitch over the last 32 beats, then at the last bar, activate that "unplug the turntable/brake" effect.

Eww, mono. That's a good idea if they're going to be far apart, but otherwise a good stereo image is what adds to the vibe IMO.

Best controller for ~$100 for a newbie to start learning? by satinbirdyin Beatmatch

[–]Psythik 1 point2 points ago

+1 on this. It's the best controller you can get for under $100.

The buttons, jogwheels and faders are solid, but knobs are kind've fragile, though, so be careful!

What do I need to get started DJing/producing? by ThoseProsein Beatmatch

[–]Psythik 2 points3 points ago

+1 on Virtual DJ, but I suggest he start off with FL Studio for producing. It's much easier to learn.

Also, I suggest the Hercules DJControl MP3 E2 instead for a controller; it's only $25 more, and it has an actual turntable layout. Beatmatching is no easy task without jog wheels. Even if he's using sync, you still need to be able to align the beats!

Does it have key detection and native video support yet? Those are literally the only things holding me back from switching.
