Silly me - it must have been brandy. Must have confused it because I tend to drink bourbon. I would definitely love to try a bourbon that had similar qualities. As I recall it was a very slightly sweet and I don't quite know how to explain it but flowery tasting beginning that finished very smooth with a hint of vanilla.

Passed out at the party house on campus after getting obliterated, but had to wake up early to prepare for an event my frat was hosting. Somehow managed to set my alarm and wake up at 6am. Drove to walmart to pick up some supplies and was getting stares from everyone. I figured I must look super hungover and just kinda shrugged it off. Once i got back to my house I went to get ready and finally saw myself in the mirror. Dicks and shit drawn all over my face. Can't believe I walked all around walmart without anyone saying anything.

It all depends on the specific drill sergeants you get. The ones in my company (August last year, just finished AIT) screwed with us a lot about Jody. My advice would be to go in single. My gf of 2 1/2 years wrote me my dear john 3 weeks into basic and made everything that much more difficult mentally.

I'm currently at Ft Leonard Wood for AIT (88M).

Not entirely sure about what is allowed for OSUT, but I have been able to use my cell phone during AIT after training hours almost every day. I would definitely recommend bringing one - worst case scenario you check it in and don't get it back until the end.

Ft Lost in the woods does suck for finding stuff to do when given passes. We never get any off post passes although it doesn't really matter because there's very little to do just off base. They severely limit the places you can go even on post. We are allowed to go to a few shopping areas, a bowling alley, movie theater, and the USO. The USO there is a nice place to hang out, but it gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

You will probably be singled out for leadership roles because of doing OSUT, but nothing too bad from my experiences. Going in with a bachelors will likely mean you will have a disconnect mentally with many of the people there. Most tend to be rather immature people that are just out of highschool. Learn to understand where they are coming from and how to interact with them or you won't get any respect from them.

If you have any other questions let me know -be ready for some of the most mentally and physically challenging moments of your life. After the first 3 or 4 weeks everything becomes rather easy if you just listen carefully and do exactly what you are told.

Was on a recruiting trip for college soccer. I had drank a couple of times before but never really gotten drunk. Some of the older guys on the team got the 4 of us that were visiting some beer and UV blue. Since I hadn't developed a taste for beer yet I decided to go with the UV. They wanted to play thunderstruck to pregame for the party we were going to, but since I didn't know what that entailed I said I'd just take pulls from the bottle of UV since I hated beer. They mocked me saying yeah right/ good luck and laughing. Not wanting to embarrass myself I ended up drinking almost half the bottle during the song. Felt sick for a little while and then fell into a drunken stupor. Don't remember walking to the party, but I made a complete ass out of myself at it - hitting on a girl that was passed out, texting an ex that she should drive there and 'hang out' (2+ hour drive) and one upping everyones stories with obvious lies.
