Yeah, maybe so. I just can't imagine owning a game that I can't play whenever I want. If it were cheaper I would buy it, maybe $10. I still really want to play, but it's too expensive to risk buying something that doesn't always work.

If the online item date is stored online, then what does that have to do with my offline item data? If I log in then it is replaced by what is online. Is Blizzard really saying this is the reason for their DRM? Are other programmers really not calling them on this?

If I bought a series of games that was always multiplayer I would be surprised, but if I bought a game in a series where all other games in that series were single player I would be surprised. The only research I did with Diablo 3 was try the beta. I was disconnected an hour into playing. I immediately uninstalled it and have no plans to buy it now. I was disappointed, because I had fun playing it for that hour, but I don't want to deal with the frustration of being disconnected in a single player game again.

Just one time you have to set up offline mode. After you do that you can go online while you are offline anytime you want. You just have to enable it.

No, if I unplug my internet while playing a game I can keep on playing. Also, there is an offline mode for when I don't have internet at all.
