Fishing Calender, do you guys belive in it? by Egeluschin Fishing

[–]Piouaille 0 points1 point ago

My mistake. I didn't think about sea fishing... But I keep thinking that the moon has no influence on fhishing in a river (far away from the sea) or in a lake. Except if you go fish by night and a full moon can bring some light.

This is pretty fucking cool by [deleted]in pics

Another Minecraft project I will never finish...

Fishing Calender, do you guys belive in it? by Egeluschin Fishing

[–]Piouaille 2 points3 points ago

Well, the zodiac influence is bullshit. The moon phases may eventually influence fishing but I'm not sure and I don't really know how it works. Weather and time of the day (morning, evening) are really important factors which influence fishing.

Are we, when confronted with a situation that causes our mirror neurons to become active, responsive to an event due to a positive or a negative quality of the reaction? by fulfillingmydharmain neuro

[–]Piouaille 1 point2 points ago

I agree with mathesong. A former coworker used to work on social interaction and feelings. Her resuklts show that the mirror neurons system is recruited during perception of social interactions, but that other cerebral areas belonging to the "theory of mind" are also recruited. So it appears that the feelings linked to a social interaction are treated by different cerebral areas that the ones coding for perception of action (mirror neurons system). Her article is free access on PlosOne.

We don't know yet. I ran the same experiment (except the microgravity) on fMRI. The paper is submitted. I can't say more, sorry.

Inside the plane all the forces are suppressed except the gravity. We are literally free diving but without the friction of the atmosphere.

If only I was rich enough to blow my money. I'm actually working on internal representation of action: the cognitive processes your brain use to drive movements. In order to better understand this we use microgravity to investigate the role of gravity in these processes. My lab is financed by the CNES (French Center for Space Science) to run these experiments. 11 months of work at the lab for 30 minutes under 0g.

Yes. I knew his comics and I was very surprised to see him there. He tried my experiment and I was honored to see my 3D goggles in his last comic. He's a very smart and nice guy.

The stomach-drop feeling is powerful during the first second of injection (transition between 2g and 0g). A parabola lasts 22 s. The others 21 s are "stomach-drop feeling"-less. Just freedom and fun.

La place se libère en septembre. Sinon il faut faire le tour des annonces de financements de thèse ou post-doc sur le site du CNES.
