I guess we're done here for now ... ? by dtelad11in grimrock

What do you think of the game overall now that you've played it and the hype has died down?

As someone who is yet to purchase the game due to lack of money and uni commitments, I'm curious.

Except when you start to think about the general population of society and how everything seems to cater for the lowest common denominator.

He's been named "Mr Reliable". I don't think you can get any more reliable than that.

What are r/ADTR's thoughts on ADTR selling out? by whereisthesunin ADTR

[–]Phoenixzeus 1 point2 points ago

"Selling out" is a bullshit term.

So what the band went more mainstream? Who cares?

Clearly ADTR are happy right now. They are making a shit load more money and are making more successful albums. What do you think they'd rather, to sell out every one of their tours and making a shit load of money doing what they love or to have to work a second job to be able to afford to perform songs in front of 500 people a weekend?

I loved Homesick, but I still think What Separates Me From You is their best.

EDIT: They've always said that they wanted to be pop-punk with heavy bits thrown in. I'd say they've nailed that pretty well.

The thing is, it's rather simple. Playing X game is not a right, it's a privilege. If you don't like certain factors about the game or the hoops the developer wants you to jump through, don't buy it. It's really not that hard for people to understand.

It's 6AM here now and it's 8 degrees. Was about the same last night when I posted. I'm in Brisbane and we usually sit around 20-25 during the day for this time of year.

My favourite sign from the marriage equality rally on Saturday :3 by TraumaPonyin brisbane

[–]Phoenixzeus 3 points4 points ago

Exactly, I am too. That's why I tend to get rather annoyed when people push the "Christians are against gay marriage" angle.

Pick one.

Are these Catholics, or real Christians? There are people at the core who are against homosexuality, there are also ones that are for. Same as atheists. I just think you are blanketing all Christians a tiny bit.

[–]Phoenixzeus -1 points0 points ago

Absolutely, it is preached by some Christians. In the same way that homosexual intolerance is also preached by some atheists.

It just comes down to the most uninformed are usually the most vocal, and when that happens, everyone gets a bad name.

Actually, the grounds a lot of people object to it is based on they are "not comfortable" around gays and lesbians, so this is a last ditch effort for them to have some control. Usually these people are the most vocal and usually try to push it under the guise of religion. However, these are usually a minority.

If you can find where in the bible it definitively says "you shall not allow gay marriage" then you've got a lot of historians and religious figures to contact as this discussion has been going around long before our time and still has not got a definitive answer.

Exactly and being against gay marriage isn't exactly one either. There is a lot of information to support both the conclusions for and against gay marriage in Christianity, it's just not as black and white as "we are against gay marriage".

Yes, him taking this view in politics is wrong, I'll give you that, however, again, I bring my point, since when does one man equal all of a religion just because he is one of the most vocal?

So if you were a Christian and you said America needs to burn, would that then become a Christian viewpoint?

Good link, I had not seen that, so thanks for the interesting video.

However, at no point in that video does it mention anything about Christianity being the reason why he does not support gay marriage, and even if it did, since when does one man speak for everyone? I think that's half the problem with the way things are currently.

EDIT: I'm not actually trying to defend Tony Abbot, I'm just pointing out that being a Christian =/= being against gay marriage.
