My worst week ever was recent, during hurricane Irene. I had been sick, and passing kidney stones in the 3 days prior to the Hurricane hitting. I run a data center, so when the storm seemed imminent, my wife and I set up camp at the office. By that time I was on antibiotics for a UTI and running a 102 degree fever. at 6 am the power started to flicker and we bolted to get to the generator, which we discovered was hip deep in water. Thankfully the working part of the genny was JUST above the water, so i crossed my fingers and started her up. I ran down to the data center where the batteries were rapidly dying and started flipping over the big generator switches. Nothing. After 10 minutes of checking, I realized that my boss had flipped all the breakers in the generator circuit panel when he was working on something, and never flipped them back. The next 24 hours are a feverish blur of phone calls, and refueling while mopping up a few slow leaks on the back wall of the facility.

30 hours and the power grid was restored, so I shut down the generator, and went home to pass out. later that night I passed a mountain of small kidney stones and thought the worst was over. It wasn't. The next morning I went to take a leak, and a huge mess of stones got stuck inside my dick.

Went to the emergency room, and had to wait an hour for them to get a catheter in me, which was hard because of the stones.

Spent the next 5 days in the hospital with a Renal infection, a catheter, and a fair amount of discomfort and misery.

To thank me for my dedication to the job, my boss got me an iPad 2 which i promptly gave to my wonderful wife.
