TROPHY CASE

I miss Japan like crazy. This is one of the drawings while on my fantastic 1 month trip. by nose_ranchin japan

In the seventies, I was a voracious reader of the comics in The New Yorker. (The magazine rack in church had lots of them and it was the only thing I could--sometimes--grasp.)Your style reminds me of those.

Lucid Dreaming while not really dreaming? by MollyCyrusin LucidDreaming

From your post, I have to say that you really need to pay more attention to class.

Please Help. Insomnia and Anxiety are making most things LD related rather difficult. (and I'm to nervous to assume I'm right on some questions I have.) by PookiBoomin LucidDreaming

[–]OsakaWilson 1 point2 points ago

Question 1: If you mean become lucid, then yes, that is what this subreddit is about.

Question 2: You can include dreams from the past, but the recent ones will be better for finding dreamsigns and putting down your recent dreams will help with recall.

Question 3: Yes, emotions can be dreamsigns. For me, fear and surprise are dreamsigns.

Question 4: Yes. Dreams can be as convoluted as you can comprehend and possibly more so.

Had my first LD I believe last night and wanted to know if this the normal experience you guys have... by pig3onkick3rin LucidDreaming

[–]OsakaWilson 1 point2 points ago

It was normal in the sense that stuff like that happens. The part where it "became really real" is very normal. If you read the "I did it" posts, you see people trying to explain the same thing. The fear is no necessary, of course.

If I am in a dream and I question it, I know immediately. I rarely do reality checks in dreams anymore because once I think to do it, I no longer need it.

Can someone elaborate on the legitimacy of this here, please? by beaner_clonein LucidDreaming

I have only read one serious study that included binaural beat and it found they had no effect on lucid dreaming.

Advanced & Beginners: Chakra Meditation for Lucid Dreaming [Fixed] by pravdtin LucidDreaming

Techniques are absolutely fine and none need to be left out. What needs to be left out is attributing any of it to spiritual phenomenon. /r/astronomy and and /r/astrology have different subreddits for a reason and so do /r/LucidDreaming and other less scientific subreddits.

I heard about this on a local radio station, Lucid dream mask. by skittishjokerin LucidDreaming

I'm sure that no one here has a biased opinion on the Remee.

But seriously. A large DC named Brent could get in your face and threaten to kick you in the balls until you do a reality check and without preparation, you'd still not get lucid. However, with proper preparation, the Remee will increase your lucid dreaming rate. If you've never had one, it should make it much more likely that you have one. Without prep, flashy lights in dreams are just flashy lights in dreams.

This bothers me since months: Problems with waking up in the moment I realize I'm dreaming. by efstajasin LucidDreaming

FAQ #4 is the answer to everything you want to accomplish in a lucid dream. That may be overstating it, but it certainly applies to your problem.

You were fine, they just read negativity into your comment. There is a tendency here to abuse anyone who suggests the app isn't perfect.

OBE before transitioning into a LD through WILD by nootdudein LucidDreaming

It's normal. However the part you interpret as OBE is actually the lucid dream having already started.

WILD tends to not work when you first go to bed. Do WBTB/WILD in the early morning.

For MILD, check out the QuickStart guide in the sidebar.

Not uncommon. It should not be a problem. The only problem I see is believing that it will be a problem.

The line between my ability to LD and actual reality are starting to blur so bad that I'm becoming concerned, almost afraid. by GamerKitsunein LucidDreaming

[–]OsakaWilson 3 points4 points ago

You need to get with other people who do this. It sounds unlikely to go away, so It makes sense that you work with other people in a similar situation to build a culture around it. Together, you could find ways that you could take advantage of it and function your best while waking and asleep.

Personally, the unbroken linear experience of being awake works to keep me aware that I am awake. I tend to shift between focus on tasks and cognizant awareness throughout the waking day. For example, when my eyes and mind turn away from the computer, and what I'm doing on it, I tend to do be mindful until I need to focus on something else. I say tend to be because it comes and goes. However, I'm lucid enough during waking time to recognize that I'm not dreaming. My main way of understanding this is the long unbroken rolling now that is not there in my dreams. Does this make sense to you? Another way of saying it would be that I've extended my conscious awareness of where I've been all day. Somehow this seems to keep the distinction clear for me. I do not spend as much time in lucid dreams as you do and have periods when I am busy or tired where I don't LD at all, so I don't know if this applies to you.
