Bacon - Nuff' Said...

What does Heroin look and smell like? I think i've just found the remains of a small bag in my house. Not impressed with house mates if it is what I think it is...

So i've found a small (1" square) clear plastic bag with a seal at the top with what looks like a few coarse grains of sand with a few black flecks in there too. I don't really want to stick my nose in there and smell but the outside of the bag smells like a box of bandaids/that antiseptic type smell(!?)

When I came home this afternoon as soon as I walked through the door I thought I smelt a kind of vinegar/rubber(?) odour.

Can anyone help me work out what has been going on in my house, please?

EDIT 2: so I took a couple of the little crystals and burnt them in tin foil and they instantly crackled and turned to White smoke, here is a picture of the resulting mess left on the tin foil:

Sometimes it's the small things. I had to take an oath today for the government and was told "If you want to line out swear you can do that, or if you want to line out the so help me god part, you can do that too." You better believe I scratched out so help me god. Honestly, it was kinda liberating. That's all, just a little share.

Just watched the show "Extreme Couponing" where they can get $400+ worth of food literally for free, how about we start doing this for charity?

Right now this is as far as I have thought. I'm watching these people purchase hundreds and hundreds of dollars of food for either nothing or change. If the supermarkets/producers allow a system in which this is possible, why not use their strategies to donate food to local shelters or charities? It would only cost someone the time to do it, now granted it appears to take them awhile to organize this all together but it is possible. And it's probably not possible at every store or location. I understand that this is a tv show where they only look at a few examples. Imagine walking into a shelter with 400 dollars of food that you paid less than a dollar for.

Apparently there are some fraud allegations for one of the people on the show, but I'm not sure to what extent this involves the other examples.

It's Friday afternoon. By Saturday afternoon some of us will be dead - some of us wont even make it home. Some of us didn't make it from Thurs to Fri. Drunk driver, heart attack - whatever. Be happy you're alive, be kind to your fellow redditors. I'm guilty of being an asshole too.

Some of the people you're clowning on, being mean to, etc - they have a lot of other problems going on in their life. The last thing they really need is some prick on the internet (like me) adding to their burden. Some of us won't make to tomorrow. We won't get to reply to whatever assholish comment was left. You'll say your piece, click send and think you got the best of them because they never replied.

Fallen redditors just don't come back. There is no follow up post saying "HEY GAIZ IM DEAD NOW TTYLZ".

Life is short, and fragile. Be kind.

She said he told her is was so 'he could always find her.'

She's 9 and never lets on that she recollects, or even remembers most of the things that happened. She was abused sexually, physically, and mentally. I didn't at the time she told me, but the second I was alone I cried my eyes out.

My parents treat her amazingly.. she gets straight A's, never disrespectful and always willing to help anyone she can.

She's experienced more than her share of this fucked up world before she stepped foot in an elementary school. I will protect her from anything, for as long as I live.

EDIT: To all requesting a picture, this is a comment I sent regarding it..

I'd actually rather not post a picture of it. I had no idea this would frontpage. Reddit is a large community, and I already feel a bit uneasy about posting so many details about the story. The reason for posting this, is while she is my sister of about a year, this was the first time I had heard the story of the burn and it greatly effected me, solidifying my decision to always have adoption as an option. I just wanted to share my feelings about this.

NOTE:

First of all, I am not a troll.

Secondly, not supporting gay marriage is not the same as oppising gay marriage.

I am hoping that you guys will be reasonable about it and give me some reasonable replies instead of downvoting me en-masse.

So here's my question:

I see no reason why gays would want to get married except to take advantage of the numerous priviliges given to married couples by the Government.

In fact I am also against the concept of "regular" civil unions or any form of legally-enforced marriages, but I recognize that the Government has to enforce the regular marriages to prevent people from exploiting and taking advantage of the weaker sex/dependent partner.

So, my question is why I, a straight guy, should be advocating gay marriages? As I see it, gay-marriage advocacy has only selfish political motivations (lobbying for benefits etc) but no moral underlining to it. If you think that giving legal priviliges exclusively to hetero-sexual married couples is unfair, then why not oppose those priviliges? Otherwise, why not make civil-unions/legal-marriages completely 'general', so that any number (not just 2) of people from both sexes can get 'married' together and gain those legal priviliges/benefits.

Again, I repeat I am not a troll. For you the reasons may be obvious, but for me, it is totally not obvious.

So I have this notion that I'll be ok holding hands in public (or other forms of mild PDA), but I wonder whether I'll actually be able to endure all glances.

Would you feel comfortable doing that/what kind of reactions have you got when you hold hands in public/do other PDA... I live in a conservative town and I wonder if its possible to relish the negative attention in a weird way, or if it just wears on you. Is it a good thing to do as far as making people more ok w/ gays or will it just make them angrier?
