Every time I see an atheism post on the front page (as someone who doesn't give a fuck about atheism or christianity). by idonotexist12345in AdviceAnimals

Wait... so you din't have a problem understanding my last comment? Interesting...

Your refute to my counter-argument was a lame ass attempt at justifying the generalization of Christianity by /r/atheism under the basis that Reddit is mostly Americans.

Let's look at two things:

Reddit -

Current slogan: "The frontpage of the internet"
Previous slogan: "The voice of the internet"

umm.. since when does the internet only comprise of Americans? Now for your sake, let us imagine that Reddit only has Americans making it okay for /r/atheism to group 2.2 billion people under the same category. Using the same logic, wouldn't it be okay for someone to generalize the entire population of African Americans to a group of majority whites under their observation that most gettos are inhabited by African Americans?

.

World -

I keep repeating this to you over and over again, but you just can't seem to grasp it. Just because religion or specifically Christianity has a major influence on politics and laws in the U.S., doesn't mean it is the same around the world. For most countries the cases you listed above is a social issue rather than a religious issue. Simply put, there are even atheist who are against gay marriage, woman's right so on.

You are ignorant because you can't see beyond what you have experienced. You are just finding excuses to remain in the shell just like a religious nut while failing to acknowledge that there might be another side to the coin.

I hoping for this too but it seems very tricky. Can anyone figure out as to how they could go by doing it without breaking the current business model?

Man, sometime I wish I could crack my xbox for just this reason. The only reason I still install the games to the hdd is to prevent the cd from getting scratched up!

I agree, it may not be the best English you were expecting. However, if you can't make out the message from my previous comment, then sorry but you got some learning disability. Let me guess, you are some kid in his mid-teen who likes to ignore a counter argument for some completely unrelated reason?!

FYI, you were trying to generalize a group of people based on the actions of few. That makes you no worser than a religious nut!

I can't make out as to why is it so hard to understand that comment except that "define atheists" should be "defining atheists".

Let me try again by paraphrasing it:

There are 2.2 billion Christians in this world and most Christians reside outside of the United States of America. So by using an example from the U.S. where separation of church and state is inevitable to group and define the rest of the Christians of this world seems ignorant. In other words, in the rest of the part of the world, religion is kept separate from the civil law.

If we were to use your analogy, we would find nazis to be atheists who prevented people from having civil rights or beliefs of their own. Does that mean I should consider all atheists bad?

If you still can't understand, maybe you should check back into middle school.

ELI5: Why did Zuckerberg go public with Facebook's stock and why are the shares tanking? by illymaysin explainlikeimfive

[–]Nivla 1 point2 points ago

There is the normal split, which means one stock is divided up into x pieces and then there is reverse split, where x stocks are combined together into one large piece with a large price.

The reason to do a normal split is to attract more investors. That is say, your stock started at $50 and went up to $100, now by splitting it into half its priced again at $50 with which you can now attract similar small investors again.

The reason you do reverse split it the direct opposite. Small investor's create a bigger volatility in your stocks, so to avoid them, you price it higher by combining stocks. In the case of Apple and Google, it was reverse splits. Another reason to do reverse splits is to avoid getting delisted by the stock exchange if your share price were to falls below $1.

Not "Christians." "Christianity."

Wait... so you are using an example of how religion interferes with laws in America to define an entire religion in the world??? I don't know how you would go by define atheists in the context of nazis then!

Deleting relevant data where money is involved is never a good idea. If something were to go wrong, you won't be able to trace back to what happened.

Here is what I would suggest you do: make a new table for the referrals. Have the following fields: username, datetime, credit, amount and status. Update the status according to how the referral is processed. Have a separate table also gives you the power of analytics to see how word of mouth is performing or your total expense towards X referrals.

Well, it comes down to the city and state the screening is in. If it is a small town, one hour early won't be bad but if it is a big city, then good luck. Imagine screenings as Black Friday sales and estimate accordingly.

Popular movies always have screenings in DC, NY, IL, TX and CA. So I am pretty sure it will show up at some point, its just a matter of grabbing it on time. I am crossing my fingers on Atlanta and I been looking forward to this movie for some time. The best strategy is their email notification and since I can receive emails on my phone, it saves me the hassle of checking every so often.

On a side note, I have seen canadian screenings on their website from time to time. You could do a search under By cities to find if any.

Since this is going to be one of the anticipated movies of the year, I would say atleast an hour and a half. Yes it sounds absurd to be there that early but it won't once you see a never ending line growing behind you. Plus you will have a chance to pick the best seats in the theater! Good Luck!

It looks like there are no set pattern for the updates and since users often share their RSVP codes for points, it could be anytime during the day or night.

If you are into RSS, I was able to get the custom feed for DC: http://www.getscreening.com/rss.xml?city=&state=DC

However, it might be easier to just signup for their email notification. You can customize it to a single movie and particular location and the email updates itself with the status of the ticket, which is kinda cool.
