TROPHY CASE

Who else doesn't want the RMAH to open anytime soon? by blackmatter615in Diablo

[–]NigmaNoname -1 points0 points ago

Then clearly you didn't read what I said.

You can sort by DPS but you can't search for DPS minimums, which is my problem. The AH stops giving me results around 70-80 pages because of it.

Also sorting by Buyout is terrible because there's no option to ignore "N/A" buyouts, so often if theres like 50 pages of "N/A" then I can't even view any results of stuff with actual buyout costs.

I seriously don't know how they fucked up the AH so bad. They could have just copied the WoW auction house and it would be fine, but nope.

The AH's search system is broken beyond belief. If I have, say, a 500 DPS spear, it's impossible to sell. Here's why:

Let's say I have a 500 dps spear and I put it on the AH. Congratulations! It wont sell, because it's almost literally impossible to find. Since I can't sort by DPS, I have to look through all spears in the world- but after page 60+ eventually the AH just gives up and doesn't let me search any further! That means that I can pick either the TOP or the BOTTOM priced weapons until about page 70, giving me spears 1400 DPS - 800 DPS or spears 100 - 400 DPS but NOT anything in the middle! I am literally incapable of browsing an entire major section of items because Blizzard didn't see it fit to add a way to search for the most important part of items, DPS!.

The recipe system is completely broken too, I can't seem to search blacksmithing recipes at all. Rather than simply listing all the recipies in a convenient list, I have to choose a drop down menu with recipies (why?!) and the best part? The AH doesn't even tell me what the fuck the Recipes are for! What am I supposed to do, google the name of each Recipe and see what kind of item it actually fucking turns into?

Can't find what I want, can't sell stuff because people can't find my stuff- entire Gem and stackable section wrinkles my brain. Why can't I just browse stackable stuff the same way I do in WoW? What was wrong with this system?

The whole thing is just terrible. I should be able to search items by name!

It is profitable, but honestly the gold in act I Inferno is just as good if not better than hell ponies. Ponies are slightly easier, though, so with enough gold find could prove most lucrative if you can clear it

Yes, this is not a build for HC, but I don't think the "55wizard" build is really fit for HC either.

With my build I may be a plant but I have more vitality/armor/etc than these other glass cannon wizards, meaning I can take more than 3 hits before I go down. Similarly sitting in Desecration/Plague/Molten will not instantly kill me unless I am stuck.

I'm a Wizard with Act I (Inferno) basically on farm status and hope to finish Act II tonight.

I play with friends, meaning they tank stuff while I spank stuff. This is a pure DPS build and is NOT suited for solo play or kiting. Everyone seems to be doing the 55wizard cheese spec, but this is more of a real traditional build. I am at around 22k damage with buffs and unlike other Wizards I am NOT avoiding vitality even though this is a high DPS spec.

Build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#aiYOSm!YaX!acZYZc

Explanation: Basically this is an Archon glass cannon build. In my opinion, the Archon has not received nearly as much attention as other Wizard builds, and I must say ever since I started experimenting with Archon I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Archon offers you a 300% weapon damage beam that costs 0 Arcane power- not to mention simply being in Archon form buffs your damage output by 25%. The beam, while similar to Disintegrate is much better not only because of the damage but also because the beam goes through walls, objects, and pretty much anything. Waller bosses, for instance, will not be able to stop your Archon Beam.

Some points to the smaller things:

  • Energy/Force Armor is a must for basically any build on Inferno, thus I pick it up even though this is technically a glass cannon spec
  • Magic Weapon is essential for big DPS.
  • I prefer Frost Nova with Cold Snap for more reliable kiting/disable in tight spots, but you can substitute with Diamond Armor if desired.
  • Glass Cannon/Astral Presence is pretty essential but if you want you can swap out Blur for something else (like maybe Temporal Flux or Evocation for more Archon uptime).
  • I use Magic Missle because I have a weapon with gives me +10% Magic Missle damage, but technically you can use whatever you want. I prefer it because of the advantage when fighting single strong mobs, which tend to give the most problems in Inferno. Same story with Disintegrate.

Me and my friends originally started dropping our flags to mark lore books (or as we called them, "free XP" or "expizzle").

As time went on, we made it a tradition to always drop our "swag flag" every time a lore item was dropped. Even now in Inferno when we are all level 60 we still deploy our swagflags any time expizzle is found.

Also when we kill treasure goblins.

If you think Diablo III's story was "great" you have really shallow taste.

The game is good but the story/dialogue is really really stale. Blizzard really needs to step up their game in the writing department.

Someone killed Diablo on Inferno. Solo. by TasersQTin Diablo

[–]NigmaNoname 0 points1 point ago

It is Blizzard's fault, and I'm not saying he's stupid.

But this doesn't prove anything- a lot of people believe this means that Inferno is very easy when in reality the people (like this guy) who have "beaten" it have only done so by using cheap tactics that do not actually constitute legitimately mastering the difficulty setting.

TLDR I am not obliged to give any shits until somebody on Hardcore beats Inferno, or at least somebody on Normal without dying more than ~5 times during Act 4.

[–]NigmaNoname -5 points-4 points ago

Look at his stats though... only 180 vit and 1590 Int, this guy obviously cheesed his way through, with those stats literally 1 hit of anything will kill you.

He probably teleported past everything and died a million times to everything just to squeeze out that victory.

So yeah, he might have "beaten" Inferno but the real question is when will we have characters that can beat Inferno with a non-cheese strategy (ie without dying more than 5-10 times).

Kind of stupid tbh, he beat it for the sake of being the first but nothing more, it obviously wasn't a very lucritive venture for him.

I'm a wizard, can I trust the game when it tells me an item will increase my damage? by develdevilin Diablo

[–]NigmaNoname 2 points3 points ago

Protip:

Open your Character screen and look at your "Damage" number. It will factor in pretty much everything and is a good way to measure/compare items or skills when you aren't 100% sure. If I have a weapon with low DPS but high primary attribute and a weapon with high DPS but low primary attribute and I'm not sure which is better, I just check which increases the "Damage" number the most in my Character screen.

The main difference about Diablo II and Diablo III by s1mnggin Diablo

[–]NigmaNoname 111 points112 points ago

You think that's bad? Yesterday in Act I Hell me and my group found an Arcane/Frozen/Invulnerable. Invulnerable means all the minions cannot be damaged and only die when the main boss dies. Good luck killing the boss when there's a laser disco everywhere and minions slapping your shit left and right. The repair vendor made a lot of cheddar off our asses that day.

THAT AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN IF A GAME CANNOT BE PLAYED SINGLE PLAYER IT IS NOT A SINGLE PLAYER GAME

Seriously, have you people been living under a rock? Did you somehow miss the big talk about Diablo 3 having no offline play? It's been a well known fact for months but apparently people are just figuring it out? Why are you all calling it a single player game? It isn't. You can't play it single player.

I'm just as butthurt at the fact that I can't log in, but I still don't see why everyone is calling it a single player game.

If you wanted a single player game you bought the wrong fucking game.

The rune system is a joke. There's hardly any difference between the "left click" and the "enter press" version of the spell- and every mob dies in 1 shot anyways.
