That rule could easily be argued to be extended to all fighters, since it's fairly easy to say the vast majority of PED users are cycling and not using year round. If anything, the therapeutic exemption is much more regulatory, as it actually brings in doctors who administer and prescribe doses. It's sort of like a parent buying their underage kid alcohol. They know he's going to drink, but they can at least keep an eye on how much he's drinking.

How do you feel about /r/funny, and every other celebrity comparison picture? Pope Ratzinger vs Sidius? Do you find those offensive? If that's the case I have a hard time believing you're not offended by a lot of content on Reddit. I didn't try to make a big deal out of this, I just wanted to stop the hypocrisy before it started. Poking fun at Helio's appearance is not harmful, no one is trying to disrespect who is, was, or what he has done.

I didn't tell you how to feel, I simply made it clear that the justification for certain feelings are ridiculous. You are correct, I'm a white belt. I'm also 4 days out from arriving in Brasil from training at some seriously historical academies. I've met, like many of you, several BJJ "celebrities", I've been training for 2 years between different academies while fitting in my post secondary education. Are you really trying to claim more of an entitlement to aspects of this sport based on your rank? You could've been Helio's best friend and I'd still call you a pretentious douchebag to turn something from "good fun" to an argument.

I disagree. While I understand why some people would prefer it, I really like being able to google an event, click the first link (usually wiki) and see a snapshot of the people involved near instantly. This culminated page devalues event importance and means slightly more navigation. I realize again this is very slight. Another issue I have with it is the existence of borders and separation. Previously, individual pages have had numerous breaks to distinguish Facebook fights from cable fights and then the PPV card. This was necessary to help distinguish a timeline for the event. The end of the important information came naturally as the end of the page. It is now much easier to pass by a break and be looking at the wrong event. These are all minor complaints, and I'm sure Louis CK would have a bit to say about me not being able to do my "favourite" thing, but I feel the negatives outweigh the seemingly nonexistent benefits.

Guys there's no reason to be sensitive about this. Yes, Helio Was integral to forming the sport that this subreddit is all about, but to not be able to find humor in his appearance when he was older is just ridiculous. He isn't a God, and trying to worship him the the extent of shutting down any humorous threads about him is juvenile.

My older brother plants trees for Outland in Northern Ontario, it's unreal pay but very hard and monotonous work. I think I would love to do it too, but I'm not sure how well I'd stack up to living in my tent/sleeping bag for a few months, trudging through the mud trying to swat off all the mosquitos.

Two questions:
1. What is your "dig" style? I did some planting for volunteer hours in high school and we were taught the "L-dig", cutting in 2 sides of a square and then lifting that to slip the tree in. 2. Any tips for surviving a first season of relentless bugs?

Not sure either, but I haven't seen that statement anyways. I would implore him to speak on it here, as well, if he wants. I can damn-near guarantee that most people would be willing to have a conversation about this. My concern being that this seems like an accusation against the Carleton Community and not the actual person (or people) responsible for the act.

Any links? Sounds about right to me. I don't mean to take anything away from his cause, and I believe he is right in pursuing whomever it was that attempted to sabotage his character through hate speech. That being said, I don't think that either him, or the police, or Carleton University can place blame in the venues in which these images were posted, as they clearly served their purpose to the utmost extent. The images were filtered out and away from the front page by users who found the content to be hurtful and frankly not funny.

That's good. The term "meme" implies repeating cultural phenomenon, from what I can tell, Carleton students did not recognize this as something that should be popular, and did not reproduce it to the extent that it became memetic. This is a fairly sensationalist article that implies that this was an event taking place involving the University or the University's student-base. It seems very clear, however, that this was a personal attack on one person by another and potentially their group of friends. It was not persisted within the Carleton Community, nor is it indicative of how Carleton students treat each other or topics such as sexuality.
