Significance of kinhin in zen? by RustyZ32in zen

[–]Nelstone 1 point2 points ago

Kinhin is practiced to remind you to take the meditation with you off of the cushion.

I don't have information on it's history in front of me.

There'll be time for explanations later—and, hopefully, some sex.

People argue that 1998 was the best year in gaming. I say 2004 wasn't so bad. by ThatOneCatin gaming

The concept is straight-forward: roll stuff up. The controls are direct and concise: just use the analog sticks. It sounds simple, but man, it's engrossing. Its hard to turn away from the screen. I have to remind myself to breathe sometimes.

If you have the means, definitely get a copy and play it. In fact, if you message me your address, I would buy you a copy. The game is that good. I've given away over 8 copies of the game to friends.

Also, it has an amazing soundtrack.

Circle Pad Pro releasing in July, wait what!?? by iiSaviourin 3DS

[–]Nelstone 0 points1 point ago

I ordered it from GameStop today and it looked like it wouldn't ship until after July 2nd. I cancelled the order and ordered it through Play-Asia.com.

The total cost with 1-3 day shipping was $43, which appears to be the cheapest way to get it new, unless you want to wait until July.

Does anyone have a link to a legitimate site confirming that TotA really had a short/limited print run? I find this so hard to believe.

What are the differences between Zen and Taoism? by Hanguoin zen

[–]Nelstone 5 points6 points ago

I was expecting a punchline.

Zen and Taoism, not so different. Taoism is the root of Zen. Wu-wei, "non-doing", is a Taoist principle that is the core of Zen practice.

Radiata Storied by Square Enix. I never finished it on the PS2 and would love to have it portable.

I've never had kensho. At least, I cannot point to an event that could be called "kensho." Zazen has changed my perceptions, but there hasn't been one BLAMMO, "kick you in the face" kensho moment. At least, not that I can tell.

The birth of my son and his immediate WAHHHHHH was pretty good, though.

Thanks. He was an old cat that I adopted from my office. Prior to that, he was feral. We gave him a really good couple of years.
