DAE get depressed about Reddit? by awakenDeepBluein Christianity

[–]NeedsMoreMinerals 0 points1 point ago

I'm not religious and this is how I see Christianity in America. However, it's not how hateful Christians appear in general that rubs me the wrong way(I know they aren't representative of Christian ideals), it's how relatively silent non-hateful Christians seem to be. I never see Christians banding together and sending a message like "Jesus wouldn't act/hate like that and what these people are preaching is not true Christianity." Jesus had a voice but his true followers don't seem to have one.

No offense intended. I just feel like the unchecked hatefulness in modern day Christianity is more ruinous that any athiest. Just thoughts from someone outside who is still deciding trying to understand his spirituality.

best finale ever. by on0biin Awake

I feel like I got Lost'd on the finale. I would have preferred something that left less to guessing and speculation. Despite that, it was still amazing and I'm going to fucking miss this show =(

Honest opinions, has it been worth the 12 year wait? by bankaizain diablo3

[–]NeedsMoreMinerals 3 points4 points ago

I agree with you. While I do enjoy the game, there is nothing about it technologically, feature-wise, storytelling, that makes you conclude that this game could not have been released 5 years ago.

I wonder if the delay has nothing to do with the game itself and instead has everything to do with a feature external to the game (i.e., it was because of the real-world currency AH)

I know people will downvote me for that opinion.

Devil’s Advocate: Is Korean Dominance Preventing the Growth of the North American eSports Scene? by TheCarbonatedWaterin starcraft

I fully agree that foreigners need more income. In fact, it's one of the primary reasons why I hold ONOG Invitationals. Between the last two and the showmatch between Sheth and Grubby, we've raised $8,500 in the past 3 months. Of the $8,500 raised, $1,600 has gone to Koreans. I know we're small, but ONOG has brought more money to foreigners than the other tournaments =P

Also, I think a lot of the problem is how foreigners train.

(1) Foreigners tend to practice poorly. Practicing via ladder isn't practicing. I think DeMulism said it best recently, "If you're not losing a lot, it's not good practice."

(2) Foreigners' playstyle is public with streaming. I think streaming is sort of dumb - you put your playstyle out there in the public for everyone to see for the short term gain of a few bucks. It's a really bad idea. You would never see that in MMA or Boxing. Ask any competitor and they would love to observe and study their opponent. I don't see how anyone who is a stream scrub will ever win against a player that is on a real Korean team.

(3) Foreign teams don't act like teams - they don't study opponents together. I remember reading an interview about how there is a guy in Slayers who studies opponents and then emulates them so his teammates can practice against that style. Actual, good old-fashioned teamwork. That does not happen in most foreign teams.
