Just another day on an Australian Morning show. by Travdogin videos

I don't see that being contradictory to 'you win all the conversations'.

I'm not a true Aussie, just spent a year or so there, but my understanding is that fair dinkum is an expression one would use in a similar fashion to "touché" or "fair enough" or something like 'that's reasonable' or 'I can't argue with that'.

So 'fair dinkum champion' is a weird thing to say, but I think it would mean something like 'you consistently win the conversation'.

I do the same, the nuking for softness adds a lot for potato type things before skilleting.

Personally I like to mix the sweet potatoes with some non-sweet potatoes. Rosemary is lovely in this type of thing as well.

Seriously though, don't use petroleum based products (like Vaseline) for lube. Shit doesnt play well with you. Use water based stuff like astroglide, wet, ky, etc.

How the hell did I not watch this as a kid, it's like Ghost in the shell + American 80's animation at it's best! by kondo_sanin videos

I think it was one of those shows that was not well written and was basically a 30 min ad for the toys. But those toys were freaking cool. The characters all had weird weapons and as I recall, I think the toys had something like a cap gun inside the figure body, so it had sparks and noise and smoke when you 'fired'. The tank cars and whatnot were pretty cool too.

edit* - here's a clip of a toy ad

Any brewers in NYC? by Rudiger036in Homebrewing

I also brew on my stovetop. I usually just use the 'top off' method of having a 2.5 gallon boil and adding water to get to 5 gallons before fermenting.

I haven't moved to glass carboys yet, as I don't really want to double my equipment footprint (the buckets nest nicely). I'd like to do all grain, and I know it's doable in a small space, but I haven't made the jump yet.

If you're not up for lofting, Ikea sells these little plastic things that look like trash cans or flowerpots in the bedding section. They basically just lift your bed up by a foot or so. Then you can fit milkcrates or whatever under the bed for storage.

Yeah, the short line I did find, for actually really good brisket tacos, was like $8 per taco. Seemed a bit steep to go back again.

Just answering the question, no need to be sarcastic.

Almost any line took over 1/2 an hour. I did manage to find one or two short lines early on, but I think it was a fluke. Getting a beer took over 45 min.

I've slowly realized that her time of the month, or rather, I mean the time shortly before her time of the month that has behavioral consequences, tends to fall in the low 20s. IE: the 21st through the 25th or so of every month. I have learned to not press issues or bring up petty annoyances during this time. It has worked well for me.

I was there. It was pretty terrible. I luckily avoided most of the horror stories like that above, probably from not being one of those 'get to the front by the stage' types. Even without the really really shitty stuff, it was a bad time. I thought it would be like camping, you know, grass and trees and stuff, but it wasn't. No shade anywhere, not even grass, just sharp jagged woodchips. It was literally a 2 mile hike from where I camped to a stage. Fucking terrible experience across the board.

I was just thinking about this movie the other day, and realized I don't remember anything about the plot.

That makes me relate to his character so much. That show is enraging, if you don't yell at the tv when that crap is on you're not human. Also, spiders are icky.

Walkie Talkie signal coming through on my amp, what do I do? by trefrog66in Guitar

[–]MrNoMoniker 0 points1 point ago

In the past when I've had that problem, I've found that it's pretty location dependent. Maybe try just moving your amp to a different part of the room?

That's a good idea, I hadn't heard of that feature of the new cabs.

I have had an idea for a long time about car horns. I freaking hate honking and people who honk all the time. I think they should have a honk monitoring system, wirelessly, preferably for all cars, but they could implement it on cabs as a city initiative.

Give the cabbies a quota of honks that would be a reasonable number for emergency use, and then charge $1 per honk above the quota. Not enough to make people not honk to avoid an accident, but enough to keep them from honking every time someone needs to make a left turn.

Win win.

FYI, those honking fine signs are not legitimate police signs. I think hospitals and such put those up themselves. I don't think they are enforceable, and no one pays attention to them.

That was in the Dave Chappell movie right? I kept hearing it was in legal trouble for not meeting building codes, did they end up getting evicted?
