Dude all you really have to do is cause some cognitive dissonance. The thing about my comments in this thread is that it has upset the worldview of some redditors. They like to think that their personal tragedy is the world's tragedy and that attention and sympathy should be centered around them. When I make them aware of the fact that this is in fact a shitpost with no purpose other than to make karma and throw a pity party, it causes them to have two competing and contradictory thoughts in their minds: The belief that the world is centered around them is contradicted by the assertion that their tragedy is mundane and ultimately meaningless. Rather than reject their original thought, they reject the new one and lash out with hostility in order to preserve their worldview.

Although I agree with your new-found position, there is a reason reason why I don't see today as a milestone:

You have had many opportunities to address this question in the past, and in those opportunities you decided to duck the issue. Although I personally believe that you have always supported same-sex marriage(noting your admission in a chicago newspaper back in the '90s), you instead chose to hide those beliefs and instead advocate for a system of separate and unequal laws for couples of different orientations. When you did this you shunned not only many of your straight supporters but the entire LGBT community as well. Simply saying "I'm sorry I was wrong" doesn't undo the pain of those hateful actions. Additionally, you continued the perception that it is OK to marginalize a minority group in exchange for political capital. These shameful actions leave a sour taste in my mouth on what would otherwise be a tremendous moment in American History. Although I applaud your decision, I would hope that you now choose to back your words with actions. As the man who controls the executive branch, it is your duty to work to rectify your actions that have caused so much pain to so many who worked to get you where you are today.

Women have it just as bad as homosexuals in the world of sex, and I don't see how calling this person out by name is helping to advance the argument. Simply saying "pre-marital sex (which I'm sure you all abstain from) is also spoken against in the bible." Says the same thing, doesn't shame someone in particular for their sexual history. Nobody should be ashamed of having sex as long as nobody else gets hurt in the process.
