It has nothing to do with the quality of their product, it has to do with their intention. When Google made their search engine, they did it to make a good search engine. When Microsoft made Bing, they did it to make Google.

Their intention was to participate in the fundamental principle of capitalism, competition. I agree that if Bing was a carbon copy of Google, that would be really sad, but it's not. Bing uses more than one page rank tool, has a great design, and a lot of people get great results with it. The idea that people should not like Bing because it was made to compete with Google is foolish. One of the reasons Google's search engine has improved more rapidly in recent years is because they were facing competition. I used to use Google, and when Bing came into the picture and started gaining market share, I noticed a significant bump up in quality. I personally find competition to be good for the consumer.

Google Search is the artist who harnessed the inspiration of good work to fuel originality and further its medium. Bing isn't even an artist, it's a Hollywood executive desperately mimicking anything successful for market share.

That's a shallow and overly emotional analogy. Google Search was a research project turned business model. Bing was the product of a founded corporation who saw an emerging market they wanted to be a part of.
