If your anxiety gives you trouble sleeping, like it does for me, I would suggest trying melatonin. Works wonders.

Morning glory? Or just a weed? by MimsyBorogovein whatsthisplant

[–]MimsyBorogove[S] 0 points1 point ago

Just started my very own garden(!), outside my apartment. I decided to take the duty over from the landlord, who wasn't paying any attention to the generous space. It was completely overtaken by grass and weeds, but there were a couple perennials in there and he mentioned stringing morning glories along the chain link fence last year. This stuff was not only along the fence, but throughout the entire garden, majority of which I ripped out. Can anyone enlighten me if this is indeed morning glory? Thank you!!

No, because I suffer from depression and anxiety, and social interaction comes with the territory.

SUNY vs. CUNY. by wondertwinsin nyc

[–]MimsyBorogove 10 points11 points ago

My college career at CUNY Hunter has been dragging on for quite some time now, for various reasons, but mainly because actually being there is kind of a drag and I have yet to make any friendships or connections with people there. Part of that has to do with the fact that I am a mostly timid person, but as others have said, there is really no social life to speak of. Thankfully I found one outside of academia.

I've only ever attended CUNY but have spent lots of time at SUNY campuses because of friends and whatnot, and can say that there is seemingly way stronger bonds that one would expect out of actual campus life than you would get out of HUnter or whatever. That being said, CUNY will definitely give you more bang for your buck in terms of education. I have had many excellent professors there. So I would say that, no, it's not a downgrade. Just expect to work harder to make connections with people.

Can anyone identify this flower for me? My sister-in-law is dying to know. She described it as "big" (in case the photo doesn't capture scale). by HoodyWarrelsonin botany

I find it's generally a bad idea to keep one of those bright digital alarm clocks in the room.

Fatima's on Broadway is known for their better-ish quality Chinese food (it's Halal). They also serve a good amount of vegetarian/mock meat dishes if that's what you're into.

Taking the LIRR out to Montauk on Saturday. Bikes are allowed but am I going to be standing next to my bike the whole time? by FidgetBakerin nyc

[–]MimsyBorogove 1 point2 points ago

There are sections on the train that are more open (handi-capped section?) that have seats. If you can locate that part of the train then you shouldn't have a problem.

Hmm. Yeah, you probably do unfortunately. I'd be willing to link to it for you (obviously giving credit), but I imagine that's something you'd like to do personally.

You could try his twitter as well: @alyankovic

He seems to actively update that himself, compared to his FB. He would love it. (I am a big fan as well).
