Actually, ie5 on the Mac didn't suck, and was one of the first browsers to correctly render the Acid1 test iirc.

And for what it's worth, modern IE (8 or 9) is a shitload better than the IE you know and love to hate.

I seem to recall that Stampeded do best between 12 and 16 volts, but I'm more worried that the stock actuator may not be able to prime a blaster with a considerably heavier spring...

Also, NiMH packs, they're trivial to recharge and relatively safe to work with. 10 cells will give 12v, 12 for 14.4v, 14 for 16.8v. If you use AA sized cells you can possibly also parallel them either side of the stock for extra capacity assuming flat cell packs.

I know it's not in any of the C standards.

The problem remains that GCC has an effective monopoly in the open source world, and so many developers (wrongly, and I disagree with this practice) use GCC's extensions in preference to producing portable code.

That's going to bite them in the ass now that viable alternatives to GCC are emerging.

Only one or two of the ports i'm using depend on a newer GCC than the one in base.

I'm not looking forward to my favourite editor (SXEmacs) no longer being able to compile on stock FreeBSD, though - nested functions are apparently not supported in clang?
