Property destruction is a lot simpler and a lot more complicated than you think it is.

The current white supremacist capitalist patriarchal state has, draped over it, the thinnest veneer of invincibility in the form of "social peace." This peace is of course enormously violent because it masks the enormously violent status quo: capitalists free to exploit labor, unlimited access to female and trans bodies by cismales, use of people of color as examples to unruly white working class people in the form of mass criminalization, wage theft, incarceration, slavery and torture.

This social peace is enormously costly to the ruling class. They need to give the impression to vast swathes of the population that nothing could be any other way and that everything is normal, meanwhile orchestrating a massive bloodletting of nearly the entire population.

It is not the windows which shatter when we throw bricks through them, but the illusion of social peace. There are seams in this social peace fabric, and vandalism breaks the rules, tearing at these seams and creating rupture. They say: we are not as controllable as your masters would have you believe. This can be achieved with mass lootings, as in your example, but it can be achieved more quickly with a simple act of defiance to the rule of law such as vandalism.

Your example would be much more beautiful and dramatic. I don't know why on earth you would reify the commodities you've stolen, though. Just give them away or enjoy a baccanal with what you can enjoy and then burn the rest.

In the meantime, breaking shit gives similar effect, and, as another comrade pointed out, is easier at this point to get away with. Once breaking storefront windows is today as banal as a sidewalk picket we can start moving on and looting capital as you suggest.
