Is there any way to get the DWGR without joining the forrest covenant? by DroppingLikeFliesin darksouls

[–]Lurcho 0 points1 point ago

Fastest way to do it is kick that ninja over the ledge, once he's dead reload your game and the ring will be sitting where the ninja used to be. Then you've got to run like a bat out of hell. If you want to buy Shiva's weapons you can make nice in the forest, go to Blighttown next to the poison swamp elevator to buy whatever weapons you want from him before you take out his ninja. If you kill the ninja you have to kill Shiva too, or you might try escaping via the elevator.

Defeat O&S at the end of Anor Londo and then kill Princess Boobalicious with an arrow to the knee (after you acquire the Lordvessel). Step outside and prepare for the onslaught of Moonbros.

You can serve bloody marys. It sort of looks like blood, it just tastes like tomato juice and cough syrup.

You might want to consider building an AMD build with integrated graphics. The Llano processors are made for this kind of work. Supposedly it's superior to Intel's integrated graphics.

Did you ever see that movie Event Horizon? Basically your computer will travel to another dimension never meant for human exploration, become self aware, know your deepest secrets driving everyone who uses it into an insane rage. On the plus side, it plays 3-monitor resolution BF3 on ultra.

(Build Ready) $2K GTX680 gaming rig, what do you guys think? by danish_holein buildapc

[–]Lurcho 1 point2 points ago

Get a Z77 motherboard for sure. I think it's needed to utilize the PCI-E 3.0 of the CPU and GPU. I haven't heard of Mushkin brand SSDs before, but however it turns out, write a review on Newegg.

I bet that's going to leave one mean vagrant. Somebody else might even die because of it. You died a death so epic it brought down another player with you.

Hope that cheers you up.

You should try fighting Super Ornstein. As fat as his companion and just as fast as before. And he has a cute lightning stomp AOE attack.

Disasters are gone after the defeat of the Gravelord Servant. by Fish-Sandwichin darksouls

[–]Lurcho 0 points1 point ago

Sometimes the game glitches out when it comes to Gravelord Servants. This is speculation but if you see that message and there's no red NPCs trying to murder you, or no white smoky invasion signs on the ground, it means there was a gravelord in your area who used an eye of death to infect 3 other players worlds and he died. Either you were infected and didn't know it, or you were in queue to be infected if other victims rage quitted.

Pop in a cheap SSD for OS and drivers, you'll get a noticeable difference in performance.

If you live near a Microcenter or a Fry's Electronics, take them there and have the sales reps explain why buying individual parts and doing it yourself saves money in the long run. Also mention the CPU/Motherboard combo deals.

Definitely don't buy a wireless keyboard and mouse. You want your movements in-game to respond immediately and you can only get that consistently with wired peripherals. If you want to add another GPU in the future for Crossfire, you should get a 650+ watt PSU. If you want everything in general to run faster, pop a SSD in there for OS and drivers.

Everything else looks good. If you have no plans to overclock, your CPU is solid.

[Build Help] Trying to build a powerful gaming rig, any advice on my build? by pix3lat3din buildapc

[–]Lurcho 6 points7 points ago

First of all, 24 GB of RAM for gaming is way overkill, the most you'll ever need is 8 GB. That amount of RAM would be better suited to a professional workstation rig. Use the money you save to invest in a SSD for your OS. Second, the version of Windows you picked only supports 16 GB of RAM maximum. Third, if you have no plans to add another graphics card, you can tone down the PSU by 100 watts.

I would pick a different motherboard, something by Gigabyte or Asus. The first review on Newegg for that motherboard is titled "DOES NOT WORK with i7 3820"

I tried my hand at an AMD build since I don't see many on here, and they're supposed to cater to the budget crowd.

I couldn't squeeze in a monitor, so it looks like you'll need to shell out another ~$120 for something good. Here's another version with 1 TB drive, it sucks it's over budget but that's global economics for you.

Any reason in particular you have the PSU fan facing up? If it's going to sit on your desk, facing it down would help with the heat inside the case.
