The job market is downright shitty - many people are still long term unemployed. Since you are not a US citizen that could make things a bit more challenging for you since many places state that they are not sponsoring visas/need to be us citizen/must be eligible to work in the US.

That being said you have a decent background and should be able to find employment. Just don't be surprised if it takes you a few months to find a position - not saying that's going to happen but just don't be surprised. Many places also require AT LEAST a 4 year college degree.

FYI - NYC's unemployment rate is almost 10% - of course that doesn't include people whose benefits ran out, people who work at McDonalds because no other jobs were available or people that just gave up looking.
