hi, I previously had ulcerative colitis and had my colon removed. I had 3-4 blood transfusions due to the disease, so I just wanted to reassure you that it is indeed normal - or at least not abnormal.

Yeah, I currently have a j-pouch. It was one of the best decisions I made, and is the closest I've felt to being normal (ie how I was when I had my colon). I wish him all the best.

No, you do not. The colon's primary function is to absorb water (and sodium) and thus is not needed for survival. Think of your digestive system as a washing machine; your colon performs the 'drying' toward the end, something not completely necessary for clean clothing. A person without their colon needs to ensure they have more fluids than those without however, as they can become easily dehydrated.

This may not be the answer you were looking for, but I think it's important to bring up. You cheated on your husband. Even worse, this is still ongoing. This signifies that there is a problem with your marriage, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. I suggest you be honest with him and tell him what has happened. It's disrespectful to both him and the relationship. How would you like it if he cheated on you and didn't tell you? Stop being so selfish and tell him the truth. What kind of relationship do you have if you're being untrustworthy and deceitful? Again, there is a problem with your marriage and you had better deal with it. If you truly loved him, as you say you do, you wouldn't have cheated. Simple.
