You know I'm not going to lie, but I had read that comment before I posted it and thought it sounded weird, but I thought if I said "No" it would have sounded too assertive. I apologize. In no way am I making this up. In fact the initial idea of asking reddit to help me with this made me feel dumb, but I had never been in this position before so I gave it a chance. I had honestly thought I was going to be trolled a lot more, but have been thankful that so many people have been helpful. I don't know what proof I can supply.

I really appreciate your help. I am a bit distraught, but I'm putting my emotions aside for my mom. She has no one left except for me. I live two hours away, as I work full time. I'm glad the semester just ended, so I won't be completely preoccupied with other bullshit, to see her. My moms going through a lot of the whole "blaming herself" for it.

I cannot imagine what's going on through her mind. I've had really close friends of mine pass along with working in nursing homes. But being in her shoes where she turns around to stop him after noticing he has a gun to his head, then pulling the trigger 5 feet in front of her, I just could not imagine that kinda of mind fuck. I've called off the next 3 days from work to be here with her, along with leaving my dog with her for company for the next few weeks.

Yeah dude I feel your pain. I only knew him for about 7 months, but he was such a great guy so I got attached. I know I'll get over it, being a nurse seeing death before, but I couldn't imagine being in my mom's shoes. Thanks for the support.

His father passed away a few years back, while his mother had moved back to Laos. His brother has cut ties after stealing the inheritance from the loss of their father. He has a 7 year old daughter that he lost in a custody battle to his ex-wife. Hands down I'm one to judge people's characters, and this man is honestly one of the nicest, caring, generous people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Being 22, seeing my mom's ex husband beat the hell out of her, I'm very protective of my mom and who she dates. This is the only man I had ever approved of.

I cannot convince you to not do it, but do keep in mind that you're selfish if you do it for yourself. I'm at a loss of words and actions from watching my mom continuously grieve all night. Regardless of what you think, you'll always be someone's glue holding them down to humanity, like others are to you.

Yeah she keeps bringing it up that it's her fault, but I keep trying to reassure her that it wasn't. Though he was overall just happy person, you could tell he has some demons inside him from the way he would just sit and think is silence.
