It can certainly be intimidating. If you're shy you may want to go on speaker nights or find a big group where you can blend in until you feel comfortable. If you get called on just say you're there to listen, I do that a lot. PM if you'd like.

If you're ever in Dallas hit me up, I know of several great AA groups. I couldn't stay sober without 'em. But that's me. Glad you're back, you'll have a chance at a fulfilling life.

Good stuff, sounds like you have put a lot of thought in to it. Now just don't drink today and see how you feel tomorrow. When the urges come, and they do, just know that it will soon pass. When I had cravings I would "play it forward" and remind myself of why I had giving up drinking in the first place. How miserable I was, how lonely and disgusted I was, etc... Do you have a temporary sponsor yet? If not it may be something to think about...no, just get one! :)

Be aware that you may "hit the wall". It's a feeling that a lot of drinkers get after being sober a few months, but not all of us hit it. Congrats man, good things in store for you!
