No. He does it sarcastically. He just has no boundaries on what he says. For example Like, we'll be at like a Yacht concert or somethin, and he'll say something like 'Man. Too true. To be perfectly fair though, I don't think science has the full answer to that question, so I did set you up to an extent. That being said, it's not impossible to think society could degrade to that extent where it was pretty much in an unavoidable cycle self-annihilation.

They way it was explained to me by a Duane Reade pharmacist was that the rise in costs was due to a heavy increase in state cigarette tax.

The state, supposedly wants to discourage people from smoking because it's spending too much money (via medicaid) on New Yorkers who are suffering from smoking related complications of (COPD, emphysema, cancer).

note: These taxes only really apply within the limits of New York City itself. Honestly though, I think it's just another scam from the Mayor to milk money from & repress the poor/working class.
