Those of you who want AV gone ... by airchinapilotin canucks

I think Alain Vigneault is a brilliant hockey coach, but I think he's running out of ideas of how to take our core to the next level. I am willing to give him another year or so of my patience, after cooling off... but I want to see him winning the chess match in playoff coaching. Soon, or else I think our team needs a different voice, perhaps they have learned everything they could from Vigneault.

RE: The Canucks. A quick look at 3 of the biggest factors in our loss to LA. by JohannesPin canucks

1: He had a beautiful assist on the only goal we scored in game 5, despite being dead tired. The team did play better once they got him that's for sure., but without him against a hot goalie

2: The ability to cut out the crowd, the excitement, the nerves, the raw energy of a hyped up NHL game in crucial minutes to have the most incredible focus to deliver top performance = Clutch. It exists, in the heat of a game, some players have it. You can't say the Sedins haven't been clutch for us. Without Daniel we weren't scoring goals. I know you agree that you can't say Kassian was more helpful than Hodgson. He was a defensive liability, yes, but Kassian was much worse of one (huuuge turnovers getting out of our own end). The trade was a factor in our loss, one goal in games 1 - 3 from a depth scorer like Hodgson could have made all of the difference.

Hodgson had 33 points (+8, 8 pims) in 63 games with the Canucks this season. That's roughly .5 per game, so one point every 2 games. We needed that, badly, as other people we needed to step up and score a goal Raymond (20 points in 55 games, +4 with 18 PIMs). His stats prove he was less of a defensive liability, a more consistent scorer than one of our other significant offensive players. The trade deadline affected the team in a negative way, we traded away depth we needed up front. I believe Gillis was arrogant in the skill level of his team.

3: Look in the AHL, there's brilliant minds hiding there. I have some problems with the way AV coaches, but I will recognize his effectiveness as our coach. He's been one of our best, but I don't think he's at his best anymore. I just remember how he had the team playing in his first year here, he took no shit and threw together lines of who was playing hot in the game when we were down goals in the 3rd period. He played who he saw making a difference, but now... Burrows was having a tough game 5 against LA. He wasn't clicking with anything, had to duck a hit every 2 seconds, looked tired... so he threw him with the Sedins to try and get him going. He was relying on a player who had made a difference in the past, not going with who looked like they wanted it to the most out there. Burrows and the twins made no difference, as they did against Boston last year. He's stopped trying new things, which is why I think we need a change.

I think there is a ton of talent on this club that has learned everything they could learn from Alain Vigneault, and I just see somebody has having to be the scapegoat for the fan base. I don't want it to be our core, I think our team is that good, you don't get as close as we did last year without being that good... they just need a rest, not to be traded. AV could use a fresh start with another team, and we could use a new man, a nobody could be useful for us. Or we have MacTavish coaching our AHL affiliate, he's taken a team to the cup before and not too long ago, could be the change we need.

  1. Against teams that weren't the defensive LA kings and Johnathan Quick. Missing him in the first 3 games of this series was huuuge.

  2. We were missing scoring depth after Daniel went down. Who stepped up to start scoring goals for us in games 1-3? How can you forget he scored the most clutch goal for us in the (arguably) most important game this regular season? The (eventual) game winner vs Boston: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8pgCZxLueg

  3. He's a brilliant hockey coach. Ask him what this team needs to step up and take the next step to win the Stanley Cup. I think he's lost. He's never handled skill players well in his lineup, I'm not saying we need to lose Vigneault and everything he gave to this team. I just think we need somebody else to take the final step.

He's a great hockey coach. He's out of ideas when things matter most adn winning is the only thing that matters, he reverts to what he knows. He experimented with putting a size player with the Sedins with success in the regular season but when things mattered most in this game he went back to the playoff ineffective Sedin - Sedin - Burrows. I just don't think he has any idea what he can do to push our team further. Our core of players and AV have brought us PTs, yes, but not the cup we want. We have a bloodthirsty fan base and someone's got to go. I think AV is the most cost-effective loss to take. Don't get my wrong, his imprint on this team will forever make a positive difference... but we need someone new. It's just time for a fresh voice.

I thought it was "You've been taking orders from Boyd..." I thought that was Johnny promising payback to Limehouse for taking out Boyd and Limehouse trying to turn Johnny then. I thought it was Johnny threatening Limehouse to solidify the idea that Boyd is being put away, so it was more of a surprise when Arlo said what he said.

But it still won him the engagement. He took control, Raylan knew he couldn't quick-draw him and was forced to be Quarrel's hostage. It was anticlimactic, sure, but it did what it was meant to, neutralize the quick draw.

Johnny being the snitch? I never came to that conclusion, I assumed it was still Arlo when he was going nuts off his meds which is why he's taking the heat now, to do "right" by Boyd.

The read is infuritating, let me warn you. Major cases thrown out because there's a backlog? That's why we're not taken seriously, we're behind technologically and it's killing us. I know there's also a backlog in our citizenship application process too. (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/12/02/bc-citizenshipbacklog.html)

I'm thinking we should either reach out to the family with a symbol of support that good people exist an offer their sympathy to what happened, and hopefully get some sort of petition organized to deal with the problem of the backlog immediately because... this is put plainly ridiculous.

I have no idea what to do to get attention... but hearing that cases are being thrown out because of a backlog
