Just to be clear, reclamation of the land after the mining process does not mean that there has been a net zero effect on the environment. Tonnes of chemicals are released into the environment, and the long term effects of the industry are not clear.

SDG is concerned that the funding that the CBC receives has given them an advantage over other private services. What we have to remember is that the money the CBC receives has come from taxpayers. We as Canadians have already decided that a certain % of our tax dollars should be invested in supporting the CBC in its effort to provide art and cultural programming, with focus on music, to the Canadian public. It is unacceptable for private industry to attempt to limit how the Canadian people can consume publicly funded programming.

Woah.... Learning about Terry Fox was huge part of my childhood. Every year our entire school would go out and run several miles in his name to raise money for cancer.

It never occurred to me that people outside of Canada had never heard of him. Is the Terry Fox run a thing in the states? In other parts of Canada? SK here.

I was in a couple of first year classes this past semester, and it really depends on the type of class. I would say that most students have laptops, but the percentage of people that use them for notes during class can be quite low. < 50%? It's tough to say.

Wow, that sounds really slick! I'm actually writing it using a cross platform SDK. The game is written in Lua, but the project is compiled in Eclipse or Xcode depending on what device you intend on releasing it for. It's called Gideros if you're curious.

These's guys are from Saskatoon. For years they played the local venues and I got to take in a lot of $8 - $5 concerts. It was a glorious time.
