Fox News Banned in Canada. by sirion_austinin politics

First of all, Fox News is not banned in Canada. It's available to all cable customers as part of an expanded package of foreign cable channels including MSNBC, Euronews and Al-Jazeera (CNN and BBC World are available on basic cable).

Second of all, this article is ridiculous. It's arguing in favor of lying in the news. It pretty much comes out and admits that Fox News is a pack of lies, and then complains that this sort of "news" is banned in Canada.

The network that supposedly has been "banned" by this law is Sun TV News, which has been dubbed "Fox News North" because it will be right wing, but it has nothing to do with Fox News or Rupert Murdoch. And it has not been banned, it launches in April. It just won't be allowed to lie. This network will be conservative, but it will have to stick to the truth. That balance respects freedom of speech AND the right of the public to be accurately informed. That's the way it should be.

What the TSA is doing at Boston Logan is a violation of the law. Congress passed a law earlier this year forbidding the body scanners from being used as primary screening. If the TSA is putting everyone through, they are breaking the law and you should notify the Justice Dept. EDIT: This is not entirely correct: The House passed a bill that forbade using scanners for primary screening, but it has yet to pass the Senate. Perhaps we should be putting pressure on senators to do that.
