Crumbiest card art! Let's showcase the more unfortunate art of magic. by impossiblyin magicTCG

while I don't love Grave Exchange's art, I don't find it bad in any way. Whats so wrong about it?

A couple questions about necropotence by nickfilin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 4 points5 points ago

Yes, you do have to discard at end of turn (but you can cast any instants you 'draw').

Also, it's not 'drawing'. You exile the cards face down; then they are put into your hand.

Official Cavern of Souls Ruling from L5 Judge Toby Elliott - If you could cast the spell w/ either mana ability, you must specify you're using the "can't be countered" one by Eanderin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 11 points12 points ago

I have two caverns on the field; one on Human, one on Giant.

I cast a huntmaster, tapping one of my cavern of souls. I then cast a zealous recruits, using all of my other mana sources. You then mana leak it. I claim that it's uncounterable. You see, I tapped the Cavern naming Giant to cast the first huntmaster. If I played down the cavern naming those specific types, is it up to the opponent to know which one you used?

One issue with this is if you tap forest, cavern, glimmerpost, glimmerpost, your spell can't be countered even if you forget to remind your opponent.

Has anyone here ever successfully rebuilt trust with a person who has purposefully lied to you? by SirBradleyin AskReddit

[–]Jahikoi 0 points1 point ago

I haven't had the experience, but I understand that in the case that it happens, I fully understand that having someone lie to me ending up as being the best course of action that that was the action that they took.

(In English, I understand if someone lies to me if the situation calls for it.)

Any tips on this Kemba Voltron deck? It is simi-budget so keep that in mind. by alexthegreat88in magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 3 points4 points ago

Puresteel Paladin and Leonin Shikari and Lightning Greaves.

I would also look into more equipments. They are good. Possibly also Caged Sun, Gauntlet of Power and Extraplanar Lens for more mana; and Darksteel Forge for your equipments.

If those are only commons and uncommons, the box would probably be worth ~$10 (as bulk).

Recently been playing in FNM drafts, noticed its pretty easy to slip in cards from outside the draft. How do players police this? by ReadyplayerTwoin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 0 points1 point ago

Adding cards to your deck from outside the event is grounds for disqualification. At FNM, you don't get a ban for that; but at a competitive level event (GP Trial, PTQ, GP Day 1, etc) or professional level event (GP day 2, PT, major tournament top cuts) you will get an instant ban.

At FNM, it's up to the players. You don't put cards in and you don't make a culture in which it would be accepted. If you feel it is an issue, say to everyone to please make sure they don't add any cards to their deck (you might say 'Please don't add cards to your deck... accidentally. (implying an accident may make some people less ready to do it)).

Karn, SIlver Golem EDH question by GhostofEnlilin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi -6 points-5 points ago

Keep in mind that EDH is a casual format. If you want to play Karn, feel free to simply add basic lands to your deck (and clarify with everyone that you will only tap for colorless).

The format is about fun, not about forking out a huge amount of money for lands.

Hallelujah viable for Standard? by wintermuteprimein magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 5 points6 points ago

I disagree with your analysis of terminus as only block playable. In standard, it gets rid of a lot of cards (geralf's messenger, strangleroot geist, blood artist/diregraf captain) that would otherwise cause death triggers to own you.

to OP: I don't think it's viable - I can't see it winning against wolf run or delver... but that won't stop people from trying.

I am not a religious person but don't you think that you shouldn't be subscribed to r/atheism automatically like you are not subscribed to r/christianity or r/islam or r/judaism? by dbalciin AskReddit

[–]Jahikoi -11 points-10 points ago

It was a huge over-exaggeration. For the most part, r/atheism isn't spiteful about religious people. They are only spiteful to the acts of hate people do in the name of their religion.

You want to rationalize your failure of analogy as 'it was an analogy' that's fine; but your point is idiotic to compare r/atheism to WBC.

Cheap viable standard CONTROL decks? by Porterz007in magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 0 points1 point ago

A Blue/White control deck isn't great because you need Gideon/Tamiyo/Day of Judgement/Snapcasters. Delver isn't great, because of Snapcasters.

Any deck which runs blue runs snapcasters. Blue/White runs Geist, Gideon, Tamiyo.

There's no cheap viable deck in there, unless you want to invest... but DONT take this as you cant make a U/W deck you can have fun with! Get some timely reinforcements, white sun's zenith, caged sun, blue sun's zenith, and go nuts with mana and X spells!

If you get to choose to do take the first turn? by PrinceBertin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 9 points10 points ago

the answer is always to play first unless you have a specific reason to go second. For example, if you're playing with Forge Devil in ISD-DA draft.

Good job. But, I must ask, what was the point of the first half of the thread? You just told us that you took the test, it blinked when you hit submit, got to the end and then realized that you have to actually have some reason to half the topic here.

Red is a good splash color in standard at the moment.

How do you play EDH? by irlurkurin magicTCG

The other card that you can have any number of is Relentless Rats. If you're playing black, you might want to simply shove like 25 in there for shits and giggles.

Question About Possible Cheating at FNM by FernoKlumpin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 16 points17 points ago

Just because a player drew the card they need after not letting you cut does not mean they stacked their deck.

However, they do need to present it to you. Next time, ask to cut his deck when he's done shuffling.

Lastly, I understand why you're annoyed, but it does come off as a bit rude to insinuate that your opponent cheated if you have no proof. After all, it IS FNM. The best way to stop these problems is to be more vigilant.

It's a big claim that he is 'regularly cheating'. I wholeheartedly suggest bringing it up with the owner of the store, but do not expect it to be a quick and easy process.

Rules question. Tunnel Ignus & Prime Time. by DeadlySightin magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi -3 points-2 points ago

If a player hasn't played a land on their turn, and they play a land, it doesn't trigger.

If a player hasn't played a land on their turn, then uses Titan, both lands come in at the same time, and Tunnel Ignus triggers twice.

When playing modern or other formats, do you avoid instant win combos? by -__-__-__-in magicTCG

[–]Jahikoi 0 points1 point ago

In modern, people run Relic of Progenitus to beat Pod. You simply kill their graveyard a card at a time, and they can't go off because you can relic their combo. Also, you can use a targeted removal spell on Melira to screw them up, also. Path to Exile also exiles, and it's still possible to deck your opponent if they gain infinite life.

Against splinter twin, people use Krosan Grip or Seal of Primordium. Krosan Grip has Split-Second; so it can't be countered and they can't go-off in response. Seal of Primordium can technically be countered, but it makes them waste a counterspell on turn 2 - and if you play seal on t2 they can't even counter it. Also, they normally only play Remand and Pact of Negation anyway... and if Seal resolves it's really hard to beat (you basically have to go off twice).

You can also play Pithing Needle and name their win condition, but that's sometimes iffy.
