No one in my immediate family is involved in medicine the least bit. I transferred to a large university to continue my biology BS and took my EMT out of pure interest. I intend to go to medical school but found a bachelors that allowed to me to get my NREMT-P along the way while finishing my pre-med. Scrambled to get into the program in time but now I love every day of it. Medical school IS still in my future but for right not, here we are and here we shall stay!

I am currently working on a project in PA to create a specific course that is taught for FP-C. There is no good course curriculum for the FP-C other than CCEMT-P plus tons of self study as well as experience. The idea is that once this course is accepted as the PA state standard that it will become something along the lines of "NREMT-FP," but not necessarily associated with National Registry.
