Thank you to r/gunners generous gooner CloseMinded by Intaruin Gunners

[–]Intaru[S] 9 points10 points ago

A few days ago I received a nice surprise in the mail by receiving this book, Arsenal the making of a modern super club. Other then wanting to vent and share opinion, this subreddit is great for learning more from our elder more seasoned gunners about the history of Arsenal so this beautiful book is a great gift to read for any newer gunner.

In the original thread user CloseMinded did this competition and I was lucky enough that he choose me as one of the winners. So now I just want to publicly thank him for following through with his promise and mailing me a brand new copy of the book. Reddit in general seems to be awesome for this kind of thing but it also says a lot about the gunners community we have going on here that people like him are cool enough to hold these mini competitions and stay good to their word. Hopefully you’ve started something cool as when I next get the opportunity I’ll do something like this too and maybe the next winner will carry it on!

So thank you CloseMinded for doing the competition and delivering and thank you r/gunners in general for being a great community, definitely the only arsenal board I regularly visit for good reasons.

I am making fun of somone for saying there was NO chance we would finish above them when there was still 6 months of the season left...

... What you mean like how we did beat them 3-0? How many teams would recover from a 4-0 shock in that manner, RVP almost got the equalisier in second half that would have set CL comeback history.

Classic spurs -

Rafael van der Vaart - October 2011: "There is no chance [of Arsenal finishing above Spurs]. I think we have the better squad."

Spurs midfielder Sandro: "We can catch Arsenal and finish third. This is my dream and the whole team as well."

Same mate I really could not sleep last night. I agree Theo and the OX should prove vital, if I was a tired defender they are two of the last fresh players I would want to come up against.

Apparently ben foster got injured in the warm up so they are going to be playing a debut keeper. Let's hope this is awesome news and not that they are about find some amazing breakthrough.

Slightly suprised that Jenkinson and Coq both starting. Hoping that the Ox and Walcott will be great impact subs late game then. Have to say I am glad that Coquelin is starting over Ramsey, will give much better protection to back 4.

Since a few people have been mocking up r/soccer kits, I wonder if it's possible for us to pull together and make r/soccer Sunday league teams? by ColourScientistin soccer

I would be very up for this in London, as long as it is all in good spirit and there won't be people shouting or arguing because I love to have a kick about but am admittedly not very good :p

Looking to go to a game this fall, does anyone know when the 12/13 schedule will be released? by thegreatestshaftin Gunners

[–]Intaru 2 points3 points ago

I don't know if they have said when they will release them yet but from previous experience it has almost always been between mid and late June, so most likely you will have them in a month and a week or two.

To those buying the new 12/13 kit, whose name will you have on the back? by Intaruin Gunners

[–]Intaru[S] 1 point2 points ago

Yeah I would only buy the kit of a player I knew was hanging around for a while, would suck if I had to feel awkward like my friend who pre-ordered a Nasri shirt last summer.
