Those aren't "loopholes" those are differing interpretations. Trying to get a camel through the small door in the gate was a fucking difficult process, so the analogy Jesus is making still works there. If the interpretation is one riding a camel had to dismount at a certain pass and was more susceptible to attack, then again, the analogy still works. Jesus' spoke more than once about loving money more than God. Finally, I've heard the rope/cable thing, but not from an American conservative, but from a Muscovite I was having a drink with last summer. And again, the analogy works: it's damn near impossible to thread a rope through the eye of a needle. So yes, this passage does speak to how Jesus' thought vast amounts of wealth were wrong, but wrong because it was so tempting to follow that instead of God he was saying to follow. Money in itself is not evil according to Jesus.
