I'm Android QA for a software company. You can get real hands on your software if automated isn't the right solution.

Varies state to state. They all have their quirks. I'm sure there is some list on the Internet that shows all of the watermarks.

I would expect them to be. They didn't do their job of properly determining if the person had a valid ID, which is fairly easy to do.

I'd also love to know more about Chinese markets.

TIL that the legal trademark on the term "Muppet" is held by the Walt Disney Company and that the Jim Henson Company has to obtain permission from Disney in order to use the term on their characters. by MrsPibbin todayilearned

[–]Halftonefrank 0 points1 point ago

Because they no longer own the name...or characters. Disney would be pretty pissed if they paid millions of dollars for something and then Hendon acted like they still owned everything. If I sold you the rights to my invention, and then still tried to profit from my invention, you'd be pissed.

Not true at all. Disney only owns the muppets. Jim Henson Company is a separately run entity that is busy doing other projects.

I'm mostly a jeans and a t shirt guy as well, but have been getting too sweaty lately. I think I'm going to invest in some light chambray shirts and cool shorts.

I'm pretty sure he's a Canadian guy who lives in Australia. They explained the situation on one of the behind the scenes episodes. They just send him the script and he sends back audio.

ELI5 - Why is it bad for money to have a fixed value over time? by Halftonefrankin explainlikeimfive

[–]Halftonefrank[S] 0 points1 point ago

Sorry, not being sarcastic. I never really thought about it that way. What incentive to I have as a consumer to spend today if I know something will be exactly the same cost in a year. Genuinely a helpful thing to have brought up.

So you're saying that there is no incentive to spend money on something if I know it will be the exact same cost in a year? That makes a LOT of sense to me, and might be the lightbulb moment I needed.

Thanks for your input everybody. Still having a bit of mental confusion on this.

What would happen if the whole world had an inflation rate of zero? ie a candy bar today would cost the same as a candy bar in 30 years. Economically wouldn't things just be more stable?
