Thank you! (: there was a thread about "baby dykes" or something like that. She posted pictures, I commented and then I posted and she commented. We ended up staying up through the night just talking back and forth and ever since, we haven't stopped. Good luck on your search, I hope you find an amazing lady redditor too. (:

Who do you dislike that Reddit loves? Personally, I think Richard Dawkins is an ass, and I'm an atheist. by Pistachio_handlerin AskReddit

For the first 18 years of my life, I had a lot of respect for cops. No matter what I saw on the news or what my friends told me, I really liked cops because I knew they were mostly pretty dedicated about keeping us safe.

That changed not to long ago when my brother told me why my uncle developed a sort of "twitch in his neck" which causes him to jerk involuntarily when trying to concentrate even slightly. I noticed it about 10 years ago after I hadn't seen him for a while. I assumed it was his excessive drinking or maybe he was just old for his age. Anyways, my brother told me a couple cops had jumped him for suspicion of being an illegal in Arizona and they fucked him up bad enough to permanently damage the nerves in his neck.. But he wasnt an alien at all. Nope. Just an ex-marine. Who served for the very people those cops are supposed to be protecting.

IAMA Request: someone who successfully broke the cycle of generational domestic violence. by PRockGirlScoutin IAmA

[–]GameLoser93 0 points1 point ago

I don't think there is a specific way to "break the cycle" other than not putting yourself in that situation. I'm not saying you did it on purpose, it just happens. Both of my parents grew up in not-so-great homes. My grandparents were abusive to one another and every once in a while they'd hit their children as punishment. They were also alcoholics. I've come to learn that there's a difference between discipline and just outright beating the shit out of a person because they are mentally ill. My parents have successfully broken the cycle simply by not punishing us the way they were punished. If I were specifically trying not to get myself into an abusive and potentially harmful relationship, I'd have to KNOW that my SO was stable and hadn't been abused previously because chances are if they grew up that way, they're more likely to act that way.

Tht being said, it's great that you're getting help for this. All of you. You're taking steps in the right direction and it'll only get better from here. Hopefully when he has kids he will look back at this and think about how he felt when he saw his father being taken away. I'm sure he's a smart boy and he won't want to disappoint them.

16 year old girl, secret relationship for 6 months. college in 2 years. when/should i tell my traditional mexican family I'm lesbian? should i just break ties when i get older? by dominacroin actuallesbians

[–]GameLoser93 2 points3 points ago

When I lived with her, it was a requirement that I go to church once a week. Of course I felt awkward in there listening to people talk about things I don't believe in but, I was living under her roof and she took very good care of me. I don't have a religious affiliation at all. I'm just me, thinking about life for what it is. Our generation is COMPLETELY different from our grandparents' generation in that way. We really can't blame them for being so caught up in religion...what I'm trying to say is, don't let it come between you two. Although you will disagree a lot, you are important to her and just because you're on totally opposite ends of the spectrum doesn't mean you can't still have a relationship with her.

This is a tough one. I'm in your shoes right now. I come from a traditional Mexican family, I'm extremely close to my religious grandmother and I even lived with her for a little while. I recently have been coming out to certain friends and family a little at a time. All of them have been extremely supportive about it and it makes me really happy. I never doubted that I'd have people behind me 100 percent prior to coming out to them. The one person I am worried about is my nana. When I was living with her, we used to watch the republican debates and she would tell me two things. One: I will not vote for anyone who is for abortion. And two: I will not vote for anyone who is for gay rights. As you can imagine, I bit down on my tongue pretty hard when this came out of her mouth. I know she loves me and I'll always be her first grandbaby but I don't really think I could ever tell her that I'm gay. I think it would break her heart. You might think that I'm "giving in" by keeping it to myself but, personally I'd rather hide it. I've come to terms with the fact that some people in my life may not accept the fact that I am homosexual and that some of those people will be my own flesh and blood. You dont "have" to tell anybody and everybody that you're gay and you don't have to keep it inside. It all depends on how YOU go about it and what makes you happiest. It's going to become a big deal of you make it into one. I can't tell you if you should or shouldn't come out to your family. Do what you feel is best. You never know, it could turn out to be really great. I hope this helped.

Tattoo Artists of Reddit: Is there a line you won't cross? by DamienCKin AskReddit

[–]GameLoser93 5 points6 points ago

Not sure if this is her reasoning specifically but back in the day (when homosexuality was to be kept secret and extremely discreet) lesbians would get a star (usually blue) tattooed somewhere visible, but not obnoxious, to let other lesbians know of their existence. However, it could just be something she likes.
