IAmAn art student pulling an all-nighter. Ask me to draw anything. Absolutely anything. by swiththebin IAmA

Thanks so much! Unexpectedly, it made me smile and laugh. Though I don't look much like your drawing, it captures my current attitude towards this exam almost perfectly.

I'm a CS student currently pulling an all-nighter as well! I find usually my logical thinking abilities start dwindling at a certain hour or a certain level of exhaustion (depending on the starting level of exhaustion).

Do you find that your creativity dwindles after a certain point? Does it depend on how tired you are at the beginning of the all-nighter?

As to the drawing request, can you draw me sobbing quietly over my logic textbook, failing to comprehend the mysteries it holds? I'm a girl, if that helps.

Can taking a break in LDR be healthy? by FinallyIOpenedMyEyesin LongDistance

[–]FindAllTheBugs 0 points1 point ago

My SO and I have actually taken two breaks, each of about 5 days. Both were after a fight that could have ended the relationship, so we each took time away from talking to each other to re-evaluate things. For us, that meant no texting, no calling, no gchat, no skype, essentially no communication whatsoever. Obviously, neither resulted in a break-up, but both were very helpful in determining if and how we wanted the relationship to continue.

After each break, there was a little bit of awkwardness, since we weren't sure if the other person wanted to continue the relationship. But, once we decided to continue to pursue a relationship, there was no more awkward.

I might also add that neither fight had anything to do with distance.

Here's another one: what shoes would I wear with this dress? by FindAllTheBugsin femalefashionadvice

The summers where I live are pretty hot most of the time. Of course, right now it's winter, so it's on off-season sale and I got it so I could wear it this summer.

Why are you in a long-distance relationship? by CATS_ARE_FABULOUSin LongDistance

We met at summer nerd camp, started dating intending it to just be a summer fling, headed back to separate high schools, went to separate colleges a year later. Now 4 and a half years later, we're still together, but finally planning on moving to the same city in August :)

What does /r/tea think about chocolate teas? by FindAllTheBugsin tea

So glad that someone else has that problem sometimes too! I think I'll try that as soon as I get home this afternoon.

[–]FindAllTheBugs[S] 0 points1 point ago

That sounds quite delicious! I'll look into getting some cocoa shells for myself and trying this.

This may be a silly question, but from a google search of cocoa shells, it looks like these are normally sold as a mulch for a garden. Is that what you use?

Quick lady question for the female runners of Runnit: by tlottin running

We used these all the time back in high school cross country, those temporary sticky heating pads. They just stick onto your skin and are basically a portable heating pad. If it gets too hot or just plain uncomfortable, you can just take it off and toss it or stick on your lower stomach.

So, they taste more bitter and lack the sweetness of typical solid chocolate? I also assume you mean that the chocolate taste is very understated.

Anyone else on a GF diet have a hard time gaining weight? by Nessdeezin glutenfree

[–]FindAllTheBugs 0 points1 point ago

I'm 5'7", 105 pounds, and gluten intolerant. I eat about 5 large meals a day, along with all the dessert my sweet tooth wants. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm still losing weight. I handle it the same way I handle everything else in life - eating more (GF) chocolate! Seriously, if anyone has any weight-gaining tips, I'd be open to them.

Going to a programming competition, need suggestions on things to know! by zman123in learnprogramming

I've done a couple of ACM competitions. The most important thing is strategy. When you get the problems, skim each one. Do the easy ones first. Halfway through the competition, re-evaluate. What can you reasonably get done with the remaining time? Focus efforts only on the problems you're completely confident can get done. Too many students waste time because they won't leave a hard problem.

I'm in a vaguely similar situation: in my last two semesters trying to get my bachelor's in CS. It's not easy, especially trying to support yourself and study. Most engineering students I know have pretty limited social lives as well; in fact, almost all of my social time is group work. The great thing about personal projects is that they're going to be there even when you're out of school. Leave those alone right now. You'll be able to do better on them with more education under your belt. Right now, all your focus should be on school, work, and GF (not necessarily in that order). Just continue working hard and taking care of yourself - it'll pay off in the end.
