Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you: Condescending Stoner. by Mickeyelmin trees

[–]El_Pateaux 0 points1 point ago

I can't support this considering this is more of a Scumbag Steve than a Condescending Stoner (although I won't downtoke it).

For those who aren't aware, weed is a HALLUCINOGEN, not a depressant. That means it can "induce experiences that are qualitatively different from those of ordinary consciousness" i.e. you can hallucinate.

If you hit a 10, you CAN and WILL hallucinate. It's a fact and has happened to people before many times.

So, Mr. condescending stoner, put on that brown plaid hat and go home.

Anyone do better running outside than they do on a treadmill? by VaccusMonasticain running

[–]El_Pateaux 0 points1 point ago

I run MUCH better outside. I recently ran 6.5 miles at a 12 min/mile pace on a treadmill, and then ran 10 miles at a 9 min/mile pace outside 1 week later.

Not sure why, but I can't complain

Reddit! ayuda! please! A series of unfortunate events has left me stranded in the desert of southern New Mexico, and i will lose my job if I can't make it back to Portland by dangerfish505in Assistance

[–]El_Pateaux 6 points7 points ago

Why not just take a bus (~$175) or even flight (~$300) back to Portland (you said you have more cash than you anticipated...) and then use public transport to get to work while you save for a car?

[–]El_Pateaux -4 points-3 points ago

The recipient of the tax cut is likely to save it rather than spend it

That's not true though.

The average consumer is in debt (and a lot of it), simply meaning more has been spent than has been taken in. So if the consumer keeps the dollar rather than paying taxes with it, then it follows they would still have spent it anyway (or perhaps spent more considering the 'dollars spent > dollars obtained' ratio).

Have a card. Live in California. I've tried this stuff before. It's nuts! I'd be down for another (more intense) go around......

...although now that I look at it again, you may be right if the picture is taken towards the back of the car rather than the front

Nope. Look at the placement of the locks in both the OP and the Cadillac SRX picture you posted - in the Cadillac, the locks are towards the back of the car. In the OP, they're towards the front.

Well again, I live in California so I can tell you my experience, but I'm not sure how much it'll apply to Washington.

Anyway, it can't (shouldn't) affect your job chances. It's a medical prescription given to treat a medical condition; it's illegal for a company to access your medical records without your knowledge. In many states, I believe it's also illegal to fire/not hire a person due to having a specific prescription.

Not sure about the military; maybe google it and look for some policies listed online?

Lastly, it is worth it to have a prescription, at least in California. You can buy better quality for a lower price from clubs than you can from a dealer, and the added security makes it really worth it (i.e. if you get caught in possession or using, you won't get a ticket or get in any trouble).

Hope this helps

Theoretically, yes that would work. However, where do you live? If LA/California, you can get a rec for less than $50 (mine was $30) and just go to a legit cannabis club, no need to even worry about/risk going to a sketchy Craigslist dealer. If you get caught with a bogus rec that's a felony. No felony is worth $50.

Also - I don't think your excuse would fly because that's not how cards work; you get them immediately when you're given a prescription.

The psychological term is 'Rationalization'. That may not sound right since it's not as fancy as some other psyc terms, but I believe that's what you're looking for. Check out the wiki page

Edit: Link isn't working quite right (although it'll still take you there; just have to make an extra click), so here's the DSM-IV definition: Rationalization occurs when the individual deals with emotional conflict or internal or external stressors by concealing the true motivations for his or her own thoughts, actions, or feelings through the elaboration of reassuring or self serving but incorrect explanations.
