"Responsibility" of coming out, hypothetical question. by shhJustAThrowawayin atheism

[–]Ekorn 0 points1 point ago

Although I've never heard of this responsibility thing, it seems the point is to show people who are prejudiced what an atheist could be like. Not necessarily to show your friends but everyone who've never met a real atheist or lgbt person

This really relates to everyone and everything.

People should be open to the possibility of being wrong.

Sure, I agree that on LGBT issues, the US is more progressive.
But on issues like due process, penalizing crooked cops, the judicial system and the three strikes, the US is doing a horrible job.

The romani people is a debated issue. They aren't citizens of the countries they travel, and are therefore not entitled to the same rights as the citizens of that country. It's a hot issue, and a difficult one. The same can be said for the issues of illegal aliens in Arizona, where draconian and unconstitutional laws have been implemented to deal with the issue.

I know if you look at the one which isn't adjusted for equality you get the US on third, but this still shows that most of the Euro-zone is doing pretty well.

It depends on how you measure it. If for instance civil rights and due process is most important, then you would prefer the euro-zone and perhaps India.

"I will sell this lamp for $200 and these t shirts are gonna be $50 a piece. And this used underwear is going in the $100 dollar rack. This old broken pinball machine will probably fetch $1000

I really picked a good unit here."

Dave is the winner and made a profit of over $1500!!

What trivial act would you like to ban or make illegal? Personally, I would like to outlaw public speakers who start off by saying, "I can't hear you!" or "Let's try that again!" by danger_mcboomin AskReddit

Wow, that isn't considered hippie in Norway at all. We hardly expect our working immigrants to speak the language. Many Norwegians think this is unfortunate though

They are snooty a lot of times. Just today I saw someone ask a question ( I don't remember what) and basically what he was told was that he was asking the wrong question to what he was actually wondering about. And nothing else. He was basically told it was a stupid question.

'Soccer' vs Football. So TRUE by Cowboy_Bebopin videos

[–]Ekorn -1 points0 points ago

Not really true. You can tell which team is pushing the other team. Who controls the ball the most, who makes the most shots at the goal etc.

Sure, to an untrained eye it seems like it's just random and sometimes it is. But usually, the team in control, is the team who wins.

I'm wholeheartedly on your side. Well meaning religious indoctrination is still religious indoctrination. What the fudge is wrong with teaching the kid to think for itself?

If you aren't confident enough in your religion to let people develop critical thinking skills before you tell them it's real, then maybe your religion hasn't got much going for it.
