Are we turning this thread into a trading one? FT: New Glarus. :)

With every trade I've completed I've kept the dollar amount about even. As a trader, I really don't ever want to trade away $80 worth of beer just to get a rare $20 bottle of something. I'd rather just drink something local at that point.

Interested in any New Glarus for Cantillon? Their Barleywine just came out a few weeks ago.

Given the multiple pill containers laying around the room I'm thinking this guy is having a little too much fun listening to his wax.

Your record player is a Fisher MT-725, correct? It looks like you might have some options for the type of cartridge you want to throw into that. Phonopreamps says that you have a P-mount style cartridge which can be replaced with a Audio Technica AT3482P. I don't have experience with this record player (or many record players for that matter), but getting an Audio Technica cartridge should be pretty damn easy. Otherwise you can look for whatever stock cartridge Fisher used to use on that model (or any other P-mount style cartridges).

Do you have any sours that you can trade?

I'm in Madison and can pick up plenty of goodies (picking up Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine and Peruvian Morning this afternoon).

I should point out the only thing I'd be interested in is a sour from Captain Lawrence. But, on the topic of Surly, yeah I can get it.

While I don't have any of the beers mentioned in your ISO, if you're interested in anything from Wisconsin let me know. I'd love to try something from Captain Lawrence.

Fuck everything about that. Yeah, yeah, it's their bottle and they can do what they want with it, but I still hate seeing craft beer show up on eBay for hundreds of dollars.

Monday, you say? You going to the brewery? I don't suppose I can talk my way into a bottle of Beatification, can I?

I wasn't trying to make your trade out to be shitty or anything, I was legitimately just curious. Sorry if I came across that way. I thought the vintage bottles were easy to obtain, but living in Wisconsin, we might just be living the high life. :)

Absolutely. I want the price to be fair for you, so how about 4 bottles? Could I do 2 x Supplication, 1 x Temptation and 1 x Consecration?

Shoot me a PM to confirm, and if it sounds fair include your address. I can get all your bottles tomorrow and drop it off at FedEx too.

The BBS won't last long (some places are sold out, but there's a few low key spots that will still have it), so if you can respond tonight I can go pick it up tomorrow. How many 4-packs you want? They are ~$11/pack.

Given the sours are a bit more expensive, I'd probably be game for... maybe 4 or 5 bottles? I have to make up for the cost with a lot more ounces of beer, otherwise I'd take more. I don't want to send more than ~200 ounces as I fear for the safety of the bottles at that point.

Where are you from that you can't find Rodenbach?

I can get you Apple Ale for a little bit still. I just sent 16 bottles of it to Delaware last week. :) Belgian Red is year round, so I can easily grab some of that. One of the things I love about New Glarus is it's very easy for people in Wisconsin to get their beer because of there small distribution (similar to Russian River, though they obviously go to a few other states).

How much are those Russian River sours going for these days? Still about $13/bottle?

Fun stuff to do New Years Eve? by krustenin madisonwi

[–]Ek0nomik 0 points1 point ago

If there's an 80's dance party, they better play some John Maus (I know, I know, the album came out this year, but it's one of the years best).

Malt House might be my New Years Eve destination unless something else comes up. As long as I have a good beer in hand, it's a good night.

Would you be willing to trade for the BBS? It looks like my BCBS is going to be snatched up (hype aside, I personally like BBS better). Or, is there anything else from Wisconsin you would be interested in?
