I was the same with FTV in high school. Bad with production, good at scripts/treatments/essays. The good thing about doing the FTV Studies major at UQ is that it's all about the critique/theory.

I think UQ does get some shit for being too theory-based, too archaic, too up itself, etc. I think some people believe that just because some degrees at UQ are 'harder to get into', it automatically makes it better somehow. This frame of mind is completely ridiculous in my opinion.

I'd argue that the quality of your degree can vary depending on which institution you study at, but that depends entirely on which degree you're doing, and the type of person you are. If you want to be a teacher or musician, go to Griffith (they have a good film degree too, I hear). If you're a creative arts or business person, go to QUT, etc. Your own learning style has an impact on the quality of your education as well, so it all just depends, I guess.

I think people just like to find ways to feel superior. If you are enjoying your education, other people's opinions don't matter at all.
