So if they're the same, you paid extra for nothing?

I'd take an MK5 any day of the week over a base. The suspension is tuned differently, more HP, better brakes... handles differently.

Again, compare it to a base Golf. Compare Mazda3 to MSP3. Compare Impreza to STi... what they really share is a chassis and base engine. Outside of that, exhausts, suspension, turbo, cooling, tuning... all different.

You'd be closer to the mark saying the base Golf is a base Pasat or Jetta with a different body.

PS... The MK5 is a nice looking ride.

And that shit pisses me off. Throw your luxury badge on it, charge more.

Most people don't realize:
Nissan -> Infiniti
Toyota -> Lexus
Ford -> Lincoln
And back to the point of the Golf...

Volkswagen -> Bugatti

I was thinking that, given the size of the crash pad he had. But control issues aside, the landing physics should remain constant?

TIL... Thanks!

I was under the impression it was similar to a motorcycle, where you're constantly fighting the air.

I think Jeb Corliss needs to do an AMA.

I wonder how his recovery is...

By that same logic, a QX56 is the same as an Armada. Don't short change yourself, the GTI is quite a bit better than the standard Golf. Just like the STi is not nearly as terrible as a regular Impreza.

Reynolds Wrap implies plastic wrap. At least where I come from, it was always synonymous.

Fun fact:

Depending on where this is done, moving it more than xx distance results in felony grand theft. Ryan Reynolds got slapped with that in highschool, revealed it to Jeremy Clarkson on TopGear... Must be fact.

So in theory, the ~2500 feet would be the same as 10 or 20k? Figure by the time he's at the bottom, he's already overcome the potential to reach terminal velocity.

I can only imagine the strength necessary to fight the air in that suit is more strenuous on the body that I believe. What other limiting factors would there be?

I am a Professional Boxer who was bullied in school. AMA. by GuadalupeSalcidoin IAmA

My father in-law was a pro boxer in the 70's/80's, and has told me some stories. He's fought Mickey Ward, and his brother Dickie, and pretty much anyone from that time period in New England.

What struck me, though, was all the weird shit that surrounded fighting professionally. Some of the stories he will tell seem like something straight out of movies, with mob, money, and sketchiness.

  1. Is that still prevalent in the pro boxing world today?
  2. What's the weirdest happening you have seen since having pro fights?

South Korea to Chemically Castrate Repeat Child Rapist by PrinceDakkarin worldnews

Yeah, I got that. In which case I agree with the outcome, if not straight up castration.

The rest still applies, however.

After reading the article, I have mixed feelings...

On the one hand, a per-situation based investigation should be taken into account, which rarely happens. If, through proper investigation (not the witch hunt bullshit the media gives us), it is deemed necessary, great. Fuck em.

On the other hand, have you seen what some kids under the statutory limit of 16 (mentioned in the article) look like? I see freshmen in high school with more facial hair and deeper voices than me, in my mid-twenties. As for the females... the same goes. They dress like adults, make themselves up like adults, and sometimes even act like adults.

A misinterpretation of age, leading to consensual sex, leading to parents pressing charges (against the will of both parties involved in coitus), and someone gets the proverbial axe to their dick...

How it was developed, tested, and used. They likened it to Jeckyl/Hyde, because prolonged use causes brain damage. The guy basically went mad.

Someone pointed out Dark Matters is the name of the show.

I saw this on an episode of Dark Matters: Twisted but True...
The show is basically some of the most fucked up things science has done, in order to better humanity. Everything from Nazi experiments, to the development of laughing gas for dentistry.

Anyway, there was a doctor who was able to successfully transplant a chimp's head, severed at the neck. The body was able to respond to stimuli, but otherwise the chimp was a vegetable. It also died within 48 hours of transplant.

I'm sure nowadays, you would have to do this in utter secrecy, as there are many people who would be upset by this research.

If anyone can fill in the name of that show, it'd be great.

edit: Added the correct name

Problems with my son being bullied. Need some words of wisdom for a meeting this afternoon with the teacher. by lookhereiamin AskReddit

A buddy of mine was a freshman in high school. A group of seniors started giving him shit. He immediately decided he wasn't going to take it, and let them know. 5 of them cornered him, and it very quickly escalated from there.

He took on all 5. Knocked one out clean, took teeth out of another, and the other 3 were just too much. They threw him a beating, but the next day said that it was over, and that they wouldn't mess with him again.

Even though he got his ass kicked, they respected the fact that if they wound up 1:1 with him, it wouldn't work out too well for them.
He wasn't a big kid, by any means, but he knew how to fight.
