Chest Supersets? by doyledude547in weightroom

One that I found really effective was a Decline Dumbbell Press (8-12) supersetted with forward-leaning Dips till failure. Also, try an incline fly supersetted with a low-pulley cable crossover. I like both of these!

Grabbed a single-sized mattress, took it to the top of the flight of stairs in my house connecting the top floor and the first floor. Rode it like a magic carpet all the way down the stairs. Weee. Once that got boring, I attempted to do it without the mattress so it was more fun - ended up tumbling down, bruising my ribs and putting a hole in the wall

I am so incredibly happy for this guy. I remember watching him play scrub minutes for Golden State and thinking "wow, this guy has some game". I really hope he's able to continue this trend, he's an overnight sensation and exactly what the Knicks/NBA needs

It felt like a totally natural pace. I woke up sore, in pain (the good kind) and I would come home exhausted out of my mind and I just adored every minute of it. I sometimes joke about putting all the weight back on and having a second go to try and save my skin haha but I don't think I would go back and lose it slower if I could because the way I was progressing in my strength/stamina/athleticism felt more important than the weight loss after a certain point. My goals shifted from becoming skinny to becoming fit/athletic so the weight loss truly became secondary fairly early on

To be honest, my mental health probably became the healthiest/strongest thing out of the whole journey. I was no longer a slave to my cravings if that makes sense. I actually feel like I am the master of my own destiny now

When I was losing the weight initially I lowered my caloric intake to about 12-1300 per day and burning about 16-18 per day. And some might say it was too low but I honestly felt great. I guess I was eating the right foods. I now consume at around 18-2100 cals a day and am burning pretty much around the same number. I don't know how much protein I take a day tbh, if it helps a normal day would be 2 teaspoons of peanut butter; 1 can of tuna; handful of walnuts; 1 scoop of the most basic whey protein you could ever find; bottomlesslegumes; and about a cup of milk It's not an exact science to me anymore as I am just keen on eating healthy as opposed

Handful of walnuts and a glass of water. I was rarely ever hungry because of how frequently I was eating (eat till you're not hungry, not until you're full). And I personally hate walnuts, so eating them was an insta-kill to my appetite.

And I was always under the impression that the best way to build mass is to make sure you fuel your body with carbs and protein before and after your workouts. If you can, try having a calorie surplus of about 3000-5000 calories a week (for a slow, but healthy pace at first). I am just coming off of a 3-month bulk period and put on 6 pounds by eating the same way, just more.

This. Water helps too in this regard. People are often confused as to whether they're hungry or thirsty and just eat when really they want water

Thanks a lot! Taken in a totally non-gay way.

There's a couple things I guess. One thing, and it's coming from a looking-back perspective, is that the difference in the way your body feels afterwards is indescribable. I feel like I'm doing things for the first time all the time. I couldn't even climb a flight of stairs without losing my breath before and now I'm training to run a marathon. Waking up every morning with energy instead of feeling sluggish and gross. You really just have to change the way you perceive yourself. See it as a work in progress instead of irreparable damage. The way you eat is the first place to start. Think of it this way: there are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you cut out 500 calories a day from your current diet and keep doing the same amount of exercise/movement/general calorie burning as you're doing now, that's 1 pound a week. It's a game of inputs and outputs. Hard work goes in, excessive fat goes out. Cheers and good luck!

Oh really? I honestly had no idea (in regards to the metabolism thing). I was always told otherwise. Appreciate the info. Good call with the macro and caloric intake thing too, totally flies under the radar when a lot of people talk about fitness
