Not that often. Never worked out the whole keeping-my-head-above-water thing.

I'm sure it has, but nothing so bad for me to remember specifically, since there's very little physical activity in driving.

Also it was just revealed that River Song's actress Alex Kingston is bi as well.

Let that sink in... mmm.

I've only ever been on the dialantin. As far as I understand their reasoning, and how little I know about the deep science of my condition, my muscles don't respond to the relax synaptic firing as well as they should. The dialantin was expected to enhance the relaxation nerve response.

Something about nerve response to potassium, or something. It's been years since I did any heavy research into my condition, and when I did it was way over my head at the time; so I've forgotten most of the specifics.

It wasn't until I was diagnosed with the condition that my father (40 at the time) was finally properly diagnosed with it as well. He grew up in a time/home that shrugged off the condition as it's all too often misrepresented; just faking it.

I suppose since I ride my bicycle regularly, walk more than a 1/4 mile a day, and work in a physically intense industry (food service) I suppose you could put me down as "above average" by American standards.

I answered a similar question further down in the post on trying weed; since it was only the one time, after a bit of beer I can't say with any certainty on if it has a positive effect on me.

In elementary school and prior, I did have some cases of falling over from an attack, but since then I've learned where my limit is before I become fall-over-stiff and generally try to pace myself from escalating an attack to the point that I would fall over.

"Attacks" of the condition generally happen when I over exert myself, by lifting something really heavy (over 50 lbs, or in an odd shape) that will usually pass after about a minute of rest or just general exhaustion, which can last the rest of the day, or a few days.

I've also found that very humid conditions, and cold can cause attacks to happen more frequently.

I've tried it exactly once, and under /r/trees metric, I think I might have hit a [2] at best. This was also after a few beers, which I know do lessen the effects of my condition, so I can't say for certain if it really lessened the symptoms.

Pretty much the same story with diagnosing me. As I mentioned before, it was originally thought that I was slow to develop regular motor skills before I saw a physician that was finally able to recognize the condition. Didn't have to do a whole lot of blood drawing, but I was put under some electroshock therapy to diagnose it.

Were they able to determine if they have the Thomsen, or Becker form of the condition?

I've been driving without any restrictions (save for glasses/contacts) for 8 years. Since my condition doesn't limit me physically enough to make me unfit to drive, it's not been an issue. Though if I wanted to be a dick, I could, under the ADA, apply for a disabled driver's tag. But I haven't nor will I ever.

No meds. After taking dialantin through most of my elementary school years and getting no results, I've not taken any meds since for my condition. Since I started regularly exercising, I've had considerably less bad days, where I'd cramp up on doing anything as simple as brushing my hair.

Kind of a mind-over-matter thing as someone else had already mentioned.

I'm 27 years old, and graduating from college a second time around next month. As for how it effects my sex life; that'd require me to actually have one.

I don't faint, and neither do the "fainting" goats. They simply cramp up and fall over from trying to run away. My condition affects all of my voluntary muscles - arms, legs, etc. - but not internal muscles such as the heart, lungs, and digestion.

As I've already mentioned, I was put on dialantin as a kid to try and treat my condition, which did fuck all. A few years ago I found an article that was a testimonial of a few people who live with the condition, and found that regular exercise did help prevent the condition from being a dominating force in everyday activities.

Since reading that article, I took up cross-country bicycling, paintball, and switched careers to the culinary arts all in an effort to try and keep myself physically active.

I generally try to avoid making my condition noticed, or pass it off as just a sore/pulled muscle, since the rudest/heartless response I've ever gotten from someone was "What are you, retarded?" or get that look/body language of "Eww get the freak away from me."

Not as a kid going through school, when the class bully picks on you trying to start a fight because of it.

You can see a sample of my handwriting in my proof picture. "Chicken scratches" might be too generous for my handwriting. Also, I've never gotten my signature to look the same twice.

I usually pull a SAP when that happens and try to keep shaking their hand until the cramp passes.

Awkwardness meets counter less-awkwardness.

Thankfully I don't have much hypertrophy (muscle enlargement) from my condition, which it usually causes. The most I've got are biceps the size of softballs.

It was evident at birth that there was something "off" about me. My mother always said I was born with a "He-man neck" in that my shoulders were stuck in a shrugged position, making it look like I had no neck. At first it was thought that my motor skills were slow to develop as a kid, but it wasn't until about the age of 4-5 that I was seen my a physician that was finally able to diagnose this rare condition of mine, and I was given regular physical therapy.

Others afflicted with my condition have taken steps to try and explain the hells this condition has, on children especially, on YouTube.
