Ask r/guns: S&W pistol thats designed just like a Glock?...

Last weekend I went to the range and there was a guy there who had a .40 cal Smith and Wesson pistol that, besides the color and some markings, was nearly identical in design to my G22. The slide and barrel assy were almost exactly like, including the firing pin safety mechanism. The frames were also very similar, slide release was identical to that on my Glock.

I can't for the life of me remember what model gun it was and figured someone here could tell me. So, does anyone know?

I also have some questions about these guns:

How are they able to copy Glock like that? Does Glock not have any patent rights on their design or something?

Do any other companies manufacture guns of the same design as Glocks?

What are the quality of these apparent Glock rip-offs? I'm guessing it's not that great because this guy's gun jammed at least 3 times out of 50 rounds.

What are your opinions on these guns?

Ask /r/hardware: Can you use Linksys WRT54G router without the antennas?

Can I use my router without having the antennas on it?

I get plenty of reception where I'm at and want to limit how far my wifi is broadcast in order to keep people outside my room from being able to get on it. Is it going to fry anything like can happen with CB radios?

Help Please: Dual electric cooling fan motors question/problem

Ok, I recently salvaged a set of electric cooling fans that someone had dumped on the side of the road and am in the process of disassembling & cleaning the motors up. It's a single assembly that consists of two fans that have different numbers of blades (5 & 7). While taking everything apart I thought to mark which fan went on left and right, but then forgot to mark which motor went where. They appear to be identical motors (same housings at least, I didn't compare the internals side by side but I didn't notice any major differences from what I can recall). I've now got the motors cleaned up and running smoothly and when I power them one seems to spin a little faster than the other.

So my question is, assuming that the motors actually do turn at different speeds, would the fan with fewer blades go with the faster motor or & vice versa or what?

Just got a brand new Glock 23, want to upgrade some things on it...

I just bought my first real handgun, the G23, and after putting a couple hundred rounds through it I've decided that I'd like to upgrade some things on it. The main parts I'd like to change are the slide lock lever, the magazine release button, and maybe the trigger spring. Can anyone give me any recommendations on things that I should upgrade and also places where I can get the parts?
